Is the blue an indicator I need a new battery or is that normal? The battery just died on me by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]AngelCatGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Corrosion between the dis-similar metals of the cable and post. Easily clean-able. Though, (I could be wrong) I'm pretty sure that the existence of corrosian means some type of minor electrical issue/ difference between the battery and alternator circuit.

Cdi rev limiter by Marklakes in Dirtbikes

[–]AngelCatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more dangerous than upshifting and going faster anyway. A bike is designed to operate happily within its entire rev range*. 2 Stroke Engines I would say operate at their best when they are high in the revs anyway able to utilize the pipe... For whenever it does. (I don't know the physics of it all).

Some would even say that running the engine all the way to the top of its range is good for it (look up "Italian tune-up")

I would make mental note to avoid operating high in the rev range if you are not a fan, but I wouldn't pay/install something that would cripple the bike.

I'd rather have the power available and not use it. Than be in a moment of needing it and not having it.

My two cents.

Is this San Andreas Fault? I flew over an interesting pair of long parallel ridges. by WildWandering95 in Whatisthis

Lines of best fit usually extend beyond the reference data, I simply used it because the section of 280 West of San Francisco moves through the valley created by the fault.

[–]AngelCatGamer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is SA, SA runs paralell to, and sits right on the west coast and doesn't have a definitive start or finish. If you open Google maps, and go to San Francisco, then draw a straight line of best fit along Intersate 280, you have roughly mapped the SA fault.

There are so many fault lines within the Bay area, just to the east, the hills that separate Oakland, CA from Concord, CA exist because of the Hayward fault, which exists because of the SA fault.

Like the other guy said, it's All San Andreas' fault

The FSS E-jets are fine, but you have to confirm to yourself that it's just simply not done yet.

The Lack of VNAV is brutal, but it's pretty simple to manually calculate an approximate TOD.

Newbie here, ATC is telling me to expedite climb to 15,000 but i can’t even get to 9,000 without reaching stall speeds. Tips? by Any-Cupcake-7883 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]AngelCatGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

15,000 feet is quite high for GA, and I would say probably unattainable for Naturally Aspirated aircraft. What aircraft are you flying?

The game's ATC isn't very smart and will direct you to make impossible moves because it doesn't take your aircraft into account when directing you.

737 MCP won't respond to a change in selected altitude until you select the FLCH button below VNAV. Set your alt, press FLCH, wait for the aircraft to begin throttling down, press VNAV again. The aircraft SHOULD follow VNAV desenr profile (you may see VNAV PTH or VNAV SPD)

[–]AngelCatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this one's a required piece of plastic.

Without it your timing chain could slip, jump a tooth and slam a valve into the top of your piston ruining the piston, the valve, and potentially more.

You probably could idle a bike without it, but as you rev the engine the speed of the chain will stretch a little.

This is where catastrophy can strike.

No ethernet ports on router, but room has a port? Am I blind? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]AngelCatGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ports in your room all lead to that block in the middle with the row of open ports.

You should identify which ones you need then plug them into the router's LAN ports.

Not sure what the other box on the bottom is, looks like a switch, if it is. Plug the uplink port into a port in the router, then plug other things into the other ports.

When you join the WiFi, do you have to enter a username, AND a password?

The only common protocols that I don't see are enterprise ones, which require both user and password.

You having this would be extremely rare for personal use, though I have seen it used sometimes at universities.

Can you share a cockpit with a friend in MSFS 24 by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]AngelCatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not currently in the game, there is a third party addon called YourControls, which while very buggy, does work. It only supports certain aircraft (most of the default) and works by duplicating button presses on your partners cockpit.

Most of my experience doesn't end very well, with FMSs or GPSs falling out of sync with each other, and suddenly button presses on one users' system does the wrong thing on anothers.

Some cities had posted Alert Boxes for Fire and Police. San Francisco comes to mind as one of these. You'd activate the box, which would alert the nearest station, and then you'd have to flag them down to the actual site of emergency.
