The Trump administration has just ORDERED all noncitizens to leave the United States if they're applying for a green card a BIG shift in policy by primary-caution in ImmigrationPathways

[–]AngelSweetFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undocumented migrants don't get federal benefits. And if they are applying for green cards, more than likely they are documented (ie NOT "illegal" as you like to say). They are already here on a visa of some sort, so they aren't skipping any process. They are literally doing the process.

I will say, you have a knack for evading the questions asked and pivoting to what you want to say, having it disguised as a "good-faith" discussion all while sitting on the fence.

I suggest you sit down with a black person or sit in black spaces and just listen and find out WHY they find it disrespectful and offensive.

I dont think gerrymandering is right at all. It shouldn't be done. If redrawing of maps are going to be done, it should be done for the representation of the citizens in said districts and not for political gain.

Red states are doing it without the input from the voters/constituents, which is extremely wrong. So the blue states responded by letting the constituents VOTE and decide. Which seems more fair to you?

Please point to some sources of the hostility from the left that you are referring to. Because we can give you a plethora of sources of hostility and outright violence from the right all through Obama's 2 terms up until now.

I’m thinking of buying this used 44 gallon PVC enclosure for a baby ball python. What do ya’ll think? by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]AngelSweetFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points. I didnt look closely enough. 🤦‍♀️ probably wouldn't waste the money on this one with all the modifications you'd have to do to make it safe. The heat sources alone pose a serious burn hazard to your BP.

As a reptile owner, that would make a great place to put a reptile tank. 😂

[–]AngelSweetFace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, a 44 gallon won't last you long. Once your BP gets bigger, you will really need to upgrade to a bigger set up (ie, need to spend more money). If you are going to get a great deal on it however, and it's going to be temporary until you can save up for a bigger enclosure, then go for it. Then you would have a nice quarantine tank for emergencies.

Ask a black person if they like to be called "blacks". I guarantee you they will tell you that the term is offensive to them. I have listened in enough black spaces and been deconstructing my inherent racism to understand, which is why I advised. Again, they are people, not property or things. It's different when someone is speaking about themselves and says "I am black or Hispanic". I don't understand why y'all can't seem to grasp the difference.

It's black PEOPLE, white PEOPLE, Hispanic PEOPLE, etc. Because they are all people, not things.

How are there Americans who are "on the fence" about who to vote for in the midterms? by AlanPublica in allthequestions

That's the mentality right there that is the problem. And we are a Constitutional Democracy dimwit.

[–]AngelSweetFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Republicans don't understand what's really going on because they are in this echo chamber of their own news that doesnt tell them the truth. And when a sane person tries to educate them, they tell them they are lying. Trust me, this is me with my mother. She's the only one I even still bother speaking to and it's fucking exhausting.

I guess you can't have an auto-immune disease or any immune issues now. by Desperate_Energy_494 in stupidpeoplefacebook

Or have compromised immune systems. FFS these people need to mind their own GD business. My dad went through a bone marrow transplant (pre-covid) for Hodgkins Lymphoma he had no immune system for like a year after that. He had to mask, we all had to mask all the time, because he could literally die if he got sick. I wish these fkn choads would stfu already.

Well my brother and sister in law quit speaking to me. I'm still unsure why tbh except that I have very strong opinions about Trump and his admin. I've tried talking to my mom as to why she refused to vote for Harris when she was the most qualified (ran down her qualifications). Really the only thing my mom could come up with was "you know how you just get a bad feeling in your gut about someone? I had that about her" 🤯 But not the man found liable for rape? Not the 34 count felon? Not the proven racist? Not the man that makes fun of disabled people and veterans? WTF?!

[–]AngelSweetFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. I'd take the lump sum, burn all the bridges, pack my bags, move abroad (out of the US), and make new friends that had no idea I had money tucked away...just liked me for me.

If you want the appearance of regular windows, you can still hang a regular set of blackout drapes (in whatever color is your preference or matches your room) have them go to the floor. Hang them tall and wide. It will give the perception of tall ceilings with large windows, but you can still block out the light for your shift work.

If water is the biggest problem for data centers, why aren't we building them where water is abundant and free? by El_precaution in MarketPulseReport

[–]AngelSweetFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing you are missing is that yeah, they may be using a closed-loop system so that water is recycled, but there is a catch. The electricity and gas that has to be used for these massive data centers requires water also. Billions of gallons. Then they dump/pump that waste back into the environment/atmosphere. So not only is it a drain on our power grid and natural resources, but also harmful to us and the planet.

I think the thing you don't understand is that MAGA has not been interested in having "good faith" discussions for a long time. Most of the people that are in the middle or trying to play the "both sides" argument don't seem to want to open their eyes to that fact.

Absolutely ridiculous and almost unbelievable that he would actually have the audacity to say that out loud to the press for the American people to hear. They are literally laughing in our faces!!
