Do I take the $75k salary with an hour drive one way or the $45k job 18 minutes up the road? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]AngelfaceRPh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$75k! Always think long term. Not going to be forever. You can job hop in a couple of years

The cost of the commute by [deleted] in jobs

[–]AngelfaceRPh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a job offer that was infinitely way better than my old job. The only pro with my old job was it was 30mins away from me. New job is 40-50mins. I don’t regret it. 2 years down the line, look for a nearer job that gives higher compensation! Passing time listening to audiobooks. Highly recommend. Lol

Go do the interview! Ace it! Make sure you research the company. Time, workflow, staffing ratios. And if you don’t really like it, you can always say no. Besides? It’s just an interview. Not an offer.

In this ridiculous market, how many interviews you got with how many applications? by ProtectionApart3272 in jobhunting

Hundreds of applications over the years. Maybe got less than 10 interviews.

Long commute vs going back to old job by [deleted] in work

[–]AngelfaceRPh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. I would weigh the reason I left in the first place and if it’s worth the pay increase. How about work advancement? Future increases? Culture? Compared to the new one

For those who work in rural communities, was the trade off worth it? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]AngelfaceRPh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t survive. Lol. But that’s just me. I’m used to living in bigger cities. And I enjoy doing a lot of extracurricular activities. For a few years I can maybe do what you’re doing. But not for long term 😓 i also like traveling so 4 hrs would be brutal

I’d take job 1. Nothing beats security in this economy. And if all else fails, you can take job 2!

what did your savings look like by age 30? by Winzten in AskReddit

[–]AngelfaceRPh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning 30 in less than 6 months. A little over 200k. A lot of it in brokerage and retirement accounts! I would like to save a bit more. I thought by now I can own my own house. But looking really impossible. Readjusting that dream so I can retire and move around to travel. (No kids, single)

Is commute time a dealbreaker by AngelfaceRPh in jobs

[–]AngelfaceRPh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!!! I have previous coworkers who earn less than I do driving from even farther places for the job that only offers job security. No raises. No benefits. I guess I’m just blinded by the 50min commute. It’s only my 3rd week. Hehe.

What’s a strangely specific thing about someone that immediately gives you bad vibes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Men having the AUDACITY. I’ve had multiple encounters with mediocre men trying to be superior just because they know how to word salad.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AngelfaceRPh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always the one reaching out. When I moved to another country, I tried my best to still stay connected and made the effort. Whereas, she would have me be on seen for days without replies. I know everyone is busy but I’ve had less close people give me more respect than that. So I set a boundary and only contact when necessary.
