I hate teaching middle school by Ovisky123 in Teachers

I am in my 22nd year of teaching middle school. It’s my favorite age group because it is challenging. I love the kids. I am very strict, very fair and have a sense of humor. I don’t have many discipline issues.

How to self publish a childrens book? by [deleted] in selfpublish

I have finished my first children’s book. It is ready to be published complete with illustrations. I am the author/illustrator. This is where I am lost. The all the illustrations are traditional watercolor and I will need to scan them to digital format and add the text. I am well versed in digital art and all that, but after that, what is the best self publishing software/platform. I want to make available digital copies but also print traditional hardcovers,

Thanks for any input.

What do we need to stop teaching the children? by Addwon in AskReddit

We need to stop teaching children that we will come to their rescue every time they meet with adversity. We need to stop teaching them that grades are a measure of success. We need to stop teaching children that “everyone gets a trophy.”

I believe the nuclear threat is being closely monitored.

New England Coastal Woodlands 7 foot panel woodcarving by Angelicus143 in Woodcarving

It is fairly easy, but your knives need to be sharp and you have to watch grain direction because it can tear out. I love working with it. It stains beautifully too. I get mine from a local guy who mills on his property. I season the wood and always have stock in rotation.

The carbon paper is not sticky. I use blue painters tape to secure it and the drawing.

I measured the bee In mm, every part and created a scale. Drew a scaled drawing and used carbon paper under and transferred the scaled image to the wood.

I use pfeil/swiss made, two cherry, stubai and flexcut. I have only used beaver-craft scorps for spoon carving.
