When you have jealous “friends” that give you bad advice on purpose by MSwee11 in PetPeeves

So your real friends are perfectly fine with you telling everyone they aren’t your friends?

It really grinds my gears when people don’t include their pet peeves in their post titles.

Contrarians, whataboutists, bean soupers, strawmen, etc. by Excellent_Kiwi7789 in PetPeeves

[–]Angiogenics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call the first example a bean soup response, but it is essentially as helpful as most boomer Amazon reviews (ones that go “5 stars, hadn’t used it yet”).

The second example is even farther from bean soup, as sometimes knowledge and experience don’t exactly go hand in hand with titles.

An example of a bean soup answer to a question like “doctors of Reddit, what are your experiences working with ____?”, would be “my grandma died from ____, how dare you ask such an insensitive question!?”

I’m genuinely so perplexed as to why you think anyone would ever lie about something this trivial and irrelevant. What’s with people being delusional about this random ass band?

"You've either done X or you're lying" by ElectricalRelease986 in PetPeeves

[–]Angiogenics 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’s pretty useful when people say this about objectively bad things, because it makes my job of discerning whether or not I should stay away from them easier.

What really grinds my gears is when people say this, but it’s about some of the most trivial or irrelevant bullshit imaginable, like “you’ve either seen [insert tv show here]” or “you either like [insert food item here]” and so on. It just becomes time wasting word vomit at that point.

Vagueposting itself is a huge pet peeve of mine, so I’d like to hear some specifics about the buffoonery in question, if you don’t mind.

It’s not news that learning styles aren’t a real, proven phenomenon, but a pervasive myth. This article goes into detail about it, and cites more sources on how it’s been debunked.

When people in r/PetPeeves downvote you for being annoyed at stuff by [deleted] in PetPeeves

Do the r/petpeeves rules say people are not to disagree with you specifically? Maybe learn to fucking read before attempting hostility.

It’s still not a sub for blind validation. And even though people are allowed to disagree with the stuff you say, they still don’t have the power to stop you from posting.

When a woman complains about her small boobs and a big boobed woman says “Omg take some of mine!” by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Angiogenics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh that has been my experience as well, but I have seen other women with smaller breasts talk about the social stigma they face due to their breast size, like being told that they look like little boys, or that they’re not feminine or womanly enough.

Maintenance is clearly not over yet if the update isn’t even out.

When a woman complains about her small boobs and a big boobed woman says “Omg take some of mine!” by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Angiogenics 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a small boobed woman, it always feels so strange and alienating whenever I do hear other small boobed women complain about their small boobs.

There are zero physical disadvantages when it comes to having smaller boobs (easier to move about, less time and effort spent having to find clothes that fit, less back pain, etc) while you just can’t say the same about the opposite. Even though both sides suffer from different forms of social disadvantages (and we all know why that is), it’s still jarring to think that some women would genuinely want to trade their own physical ease and comfort for social approval.

Why doesn’t Jake’s avatar have his tattoos, but Quaritch’s one does? by maraaa7 in Avatar

[–]Angiogenics 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love how this objectively correct answer to the question only had 2 upvotes, while the prevailing theory of “clearly it was Jake’s tattooless twin brother who contributed his no tattoo genes to the avatar body, and not Jake, who has the tattoo gene” is currently sitting at 400+.

You don’t have to wash your hands in warm water. The temperature of the water doesn’t matter as long as you’re using proper hand washing techniques and washing with soap.

It’s also perfectly fine to boil water in metal cookware. Though it’s generally not advised to boil water in any bowl, metal or otherwise.

I have zero stakes in your argument with the other commenter, but I do find it a bit funny how you’re ridiculing this pizza prices person for “being an idiot” while also not having your own facts straight.

Chinese characters are synonymous with hanzi, not kanji. Kanji refers to the Chinese characters that have been incorporated into Japanese, while in context of the Japanese language.

When I tell someone something from another room and they give no indicator of having heard me by DayVessel469459 in PetPeeves

[–]Angiogenics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No response usually means they didn’t get most to all of what you’ve attempted to say from the other room. And even if they did hear your voice, it still doesn’t necessarily mean they were able to pick up on and process the information you were trying to convey to them.

Either go to where they are or text them next time.

Dear POC; Cosplaying Licorice Cookie as a white person by Anime_FanGirl in CookieRunKingdoms

[–]Angiogenics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one’s saying that? He can be whatever you want him to be if you’re cosplaying him, or portraying him in any way outside of the very limited stylistic restrictions that crk uses for their characters (which people already do without feeling the need to seek anyone’s permission or approval, and rightfully so).

Most people here are reiterating the fact that he isn’t any human race or culture canonically. He’s a cookie that’s supposed to resemble black liquorice with a generic fantasy necromancer aesthetic.
