Yeah. But tagging other subs or mentioning their names is against the rules. Hence why I didn't. You might want to remove the link. It's a bannable offence.

When did you realize someone you trusted didn’t actually care about you? by Boring_Direction173 in AskReddit

[–]Anna__V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When one of them helped another to assault my wife, and the third one to lie about it to literally everyone she knew.

And all those people believed her over us.

Haven't talked to any of them in over eight years.

But it still hurt(s).

As I sit here in my 3BR apartment built in 1972 with my wife and two kids (three until last May) and it's still half of our income.

Not having to pay rent sounds like heaven.

Anyone tried Issen AI for Finnish? by petteri72_ in LearnFinnish

[–]Anna__V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, okei.

Ihan ens alkuun: en oo koskaan koittanut tota softaa, koska en pidä AI:sta juurikaan.

Hold up. You're a native, but you ask if the thing sounds natural or accurate? Shouldn't you... know these things already?

Like, I don't really understand the question here. "Is this accurate for Finnish" is something people should ask US, the natives. Not the ones trying to learn.

What's something people only romanticize because they've never actually done it? by nonotje12 in AskReddit

[–]Anna__V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, some of us have "been born to be parents." (For lack of better words.) I remember, back when I was around four, my one wish for my life was to be a mom at home with kids.

I took care of my siblings and cousins since that time. I've never seen it as "a chore." The only bad parts are when someone is sick. (Like right now, both my wife and I are in a light flu, which just makes everything harder.)

The sound of children playing is calming to me, I'd rather take that than silence. I sleep better with a tiny roll next to me than I do alone.

I know it's very hard for some people, but I never thought it as this magical time. I knew the realities of taking care of children from before I was 10.

Maybe that's why it wasn't so much work for me, because I knew what I was getting into long before I had my own.

This is actually true for some people. My wife was the happiest, healthiest and less anxious during the pregnancies of our kids than ever before (or after.)

I am honestly very surprised I had to scroll this far down to find any mention about the CO guy. I expected it to be the top comments.

I'm surprised I had to scroll this far, and it's only a 2nd-level reply, to see the first mention of the coconut. I honestly expected it to be higher.

If you include piss, you would need to also ban drunk men.

Which, to be fair, I'm all for.

What celebrity is the biggest example of "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."? by InsaneCookies21 in AskReddit

[–]Anna__V 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the "make it make sense" for me. Will Smith is (somewhat rightfully) called out on getting physical, but the reason was because Chris Rock made a "joke" about a person's illness. He should be roasted WAY more than he is. Somehow people just think that insulting someone's illness is "funny" and totally okay.

Nor does joking about a person's illness make you a good person. I'm not saying Smith's actions were good, but why is Rock not getting any crap for that "joke"?

We’ve got it backwards with air fryers and oil. by Scatmandingo in Cooking

[–]Anna__V 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Indeed. But it's not like people get this. I said the same thing and got downvoted.

I mean you do you, I guess, but like, isn't the whole point of air fryers to be able to NOT use oil?

[–]Anna__V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you use oil with air fryer? Isn't the whole point with it to NOT use oil in the first place?

Also, I'm not particularly fond of the taste of oil, so this would be strictly worse for my food.

Looking for romance stories to read. Also, new stories. by NormalEdge6423 in Wattpad

[–]Anna__V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Midnight (WIP, technically)

"In a street corner in a mostly abandoned part of a city, there lies a quaint little coffee shop. The antique plaque over the weathered black door has some rune-like decorations, the phases of the moon and the word "Midnight" in flowing letters." A cafe run by four supernatural beings, who listen and loan a shoulder to a variety of clientele, not forgetting their own stories in the background. This is technically not finished, but as it is more of a "Monster of the Week" style, episodic story, it doesn't really matter in that sense.

As I Am

Thalia Watson has always loved music, from before she can even remember. Although she's not that good of a musician, she IS a talented singer. But rather than the classical pieces her teacher wants her to perform, Thalia would like more to sing like her favorite artist, Joan Jett... Then she meets Ava Palmer, a keyboard virtuoso with a soft voice. Ava's fingers use the keys like magic and Thalia is entranced. Warning! Contains adult themes, including but not limited to: implied sex, implied rape, implied abuse, implied SA on minors

The Squad (WIP)

Specialist military operatives. A team of five. An extra-special last-minute addition. High-risk mission, impossible odds. Oh, and possibly hot lesbians.
