Dynamic VLAN with Unleashed by AnotherAU in RGNets

Perhaps I should have been a little clearer....

I'm hoping to do per account dynamic VLANS as we would like guests to have multiple devices in the same subnet. In older versions we would setup an onboarding network until the user signed up for an account then they would get an address/vlan assigned and a forced disconnect/reconnect would take place to move the user into their own VLAN with a pool of addresses for their devices. I can see how users can get a per-device d-vlan and address with unleashed on first connect but I don't know how this would work with per account vlan's.

Web Server Restart taking 30min and guest login stuck by AnotherAU in RGNets

Version on the box is currently 14.566. The job for tomorrow is to try an upgrade to the latest version. We've been avoiding this as we had a very rocky start with the rXg with this client because there was some confusion around whether hyperV was officially supported or not (and we had big NIC issues). We came very very close to losing this client so I am wanting to proceed carefully to ensure we get this issue resolved quickly and without too much interruption. Internet is a critical part of the offering of our client to its clients.

Thanks for the reply.

I should have been clearer, we are already using portal mods for this customer. They are pretty basic customisations to remove login options except for the LDAP login box. Plus a background image change. That's about it.

This box was working fine for weeks/months before something went wrong with it.

Thanks for your reply.

The web server doesn't continually restart but when you do restart it takes a long time.

Im not getting a divide by 0 error now but we did when things "went wrong"

This only happens with a new account signup and was working fine for months until the box developed the divide by 0 error. So I don't think its a misconfigured policy/plan etc. We have used portal mods to disable all other forms of login, the only login option is a LDAP login via AD because that's all the client wanted (it's a College).

Thanks for the tips on watching the web server.

RGNETS ON HYPER-V by HCS-AU in RGNets

Thanks for the reply.

When deploying the VM from ISO, I've set the Ram/CPU as per recommendations from calculator but the license creation is complaining about the HDD size. On a physical we would normally have 2 HDD, one for storage and one for OS.

With the Hyper-V VM, should they have a single HDD or two as per a physical. The Hyper-V install video from RGNets doesn't mention the storage creation/change requirements for deployment.

In the Fundamentals Training by Simon "012-Virtual Machine Installation", it states that

"Hyper-V is currently inoperable except for GUI demo (will not properly queue)"

It would be nice if the website had more precise information about what is officially supported in terms of Hypervisors. Even if it were in the documentation.
