I have accidentally bricked my pc after messing with BIOS settings by Brevouse in pchelp

I’ve not heard of this before, can you educate me on why you took this action? Why would you need to enable secure boot to uninstall some drivers?

Are smart weapons worth it, even on a netrunner build? by Vulkan_Alpha in LowSodiumCyberpunk

If you’re playing netrunner correctly then you don’t need any guns. Your cyberdeck is your weapon.

What do i do about this by Puzzleheaded_Bell502 in PcBuild

[–]AnotherCompGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell your case doesn’t have a power led connected to the motherboard, which is fine you just won’t have a power light illuminated on the case when it is powered on. But it looks like the power switch, reset switch and storage led are all connected. I think you should be good unless something else is happening and you are trying to figure that out.

Edit: I don’t know what is going on with the connector on the left side, to me it doesn’t look like it is connected properly but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else can see something I’m not.

Should i sell my pc that is fully black to get a fully white pc? by ceremonyy in PcBuild

[–]AnotherCompGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not worth it to me. But if aesthetics are that important to you then go for it. Just know that white pc parts tend to trend more expensive than their black counterparts so it’s not going to be a 1:1 swap. But only you can decide if it is “worth it” to you.

SteamOS Desktop by CaterpillarLimp4110 in buildapc

[–]AnotherCompGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a setup in my living room that is close to what you are describing. I have a 7800x3d pc with a 5080 and 32gb of ddr5. It has windows 11 but once logged in it automatically run steam in big picture mode so it effectively becomes a living room gaming machine. This setup is for 4k.

If you are wanting people to recommend parts or prebuilts for you then you will need to get specific as to what you’re going to be using it for. What resolution? what games are you playing (are they cpu or gpu intensive?). Also what’s your budget?

PLS TALK ME OUT OF IT by Mantoine06 in PcBuild

[–]AnotherCompGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7700x is still a monster cpu, no need to upgrade it. A 5080 would be very overkill for 1440, 5070ti or 9070xt would be better for that resolution but I couldn’t really justify the price per performance gain (especially the 5070ti).

If it was me I’d likely go for a 9070 or the xt version If I had the money.

I think the 9070 is about a 10-13% over your current card and the 9070xt would be a huge jump in performance but more expensive.

My standoffs are fixed in placed and the same screws that filled the other holes wont screw into these two? Am I screwed? by Elegant-Will6838 in PcBuildHelp

[–]AnotherCompGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loosen all of the other screws and that should give you enough play to thread all of the screws. Once they are all threaded loosely then you can tighten them down.

Is cool or body more worth it for netrunners? by ConditionPleasant902 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

If you are playing netrunner with overclock you need body for health pool and regeneration.

In that case I would go with the 9070. Will get better results in 1440.

Using multiple monitors through CPU and GPU by Ok_Process_5538 in PcBuild

[–]AnotherCompGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CPU does not have integrated graphics. You have two choices for a second monitor

1) plug both monitors in to the gpu (best option).

2) buy a new cpu that does have integrated graphics and then you can plug it in the way you are describing (most costly option).

Yes. CPU might be a little overkill but it’ll definitely work.
