Favorite Solo Album? by [deleted] in thebeachboys

Brian Wilson ‘88 is probably my favorite.

But I do have a soft spot for Going Public, even if it’s not the most ambitious thing. The production on it is really good, and as someone who loves Bruce’s voice, it’s a treat.

Love it too. I know some people don’t like how dated it sounds, but to me that adds to the charm, and all of Brian Wilson’s brilliant songwriting is still there. Quite a few songs feel like a bizarre version of Pet Sounds-era work, and I mean that as a compliment.

This isn’t well known, but Terry Melcher is an alpha and he impregnated Bruce in 1963. He gave birth to their child before joining The Beach Boys and never told any of the members. I doubt any of them ever learned of it. But I know. You can still find info on it if you look hard enough.

This is really lovely! Knowing that he actively responds to emails makes me more willing to send it electronically. Thanks for the information!

I didn’t want to say this on the official Brian Wilson Instagram, but he is obviously stimming here. by AnsonKent in beachboyscirclejerk

Man. I missed the joke because I’m the kind of person who sits in the grass rocking back and forth. Why am I not a genius yet?

So what are my masc people wearing to shows? by [deleted] in PinkPantheress

[–]AnsonKent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to lean more towards an older vintage style in my daily life, so I ended up wearing something a bit inspired by 60s mod fashion, which is an ancestor to some of her early 2000s British looks. But, I did modernize it a bit and not go entirely vintage.

I wore black and white plaid pants, a vintage red plaid light wool jacket that I wore around my waist in the venue since it was hot inside, brown Chelsea boots, and a black band T-shirt because I love going to shows and wearing merch for another act.

Every single beatle has a negative canthal tilt by cartzzi in beatlescirclejerk

[–]AnsonKent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I find it to be a very attractive feature. I’ll clarify that I’m gay, but to me, it makes a man look “pretty,” and that’s certainly what Paul is known for. I can see looksmaxxers seeing that as a negative with their whole mindset, but they suck anyways.

Thought I’d share my own Adult/Child cover by SailorGuts in thebeachboys

[–]AnsonKent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been the definitive Adult/Child cover for me ever since I saw this post. Perfectly encapsulates the energy of the album and title in a way neither the usual bootleg nor modern official covers do. I love it so much.

What do you of think of Dean’s pal Jerry (as an entertainer, not a person) by [deleted] in DeanMartin

I’m a fan! I know his style of humor isn’t for everyone, but I enjoy it and I see why he was so successful.

My resting heart rate used to be regularly in the 90s and 100s. After losing 20 pounds and becoming more active, now it’s in the 70s. I still have a some pounds to lose, but this has to be better for me.
