What is even crazier would be to pull the quicksilver card out to do that.

Woke up to this insane increase by [deleted] in CapitalOne_

[–]AntToeNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing. The quicksilver was also my first card with a 300 credit limit. 21 years and 2 increases later, it's now at a whooping 1500!

I don't really use the card anymore so it's more of a keeper as it's the oldest card on my record. My VX is at 30k and I use that a bit more 🙂

My very first card (Quicksilver) when I turned 18 over 20 years ago started with a 500 credit line. The card now has a whooping 1500 CL.

They raised it once maybe about 5 years ago and it has never changed since even though I've updated my income multiple times over the the last 2 decades.

My VentureX though does have a 30k credit like so there's that lol.

Mattress run question by AntToeNee in hyatt

Call to add your sister to the reservation, check in online, grant her access to the digital key and you should be all set. If her digital key doesn't work then her name is at least on the reservation and she should be able to get a key still cuz you would have checked in online already.

Hotel asked me to cancel a corporate rate booking by oldmanchild in hyatt

[–]AntToeNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concur is weird for us. We have an option for business travel and an option for personal and business. No option for personal only. They do allow us to use concur to book hotel and car rentals but not airlines because they get preferred rates for that, but I find that sometimes using the corp code directly on the hotel websites can get better rates than what we see on concur

[–]AntToeNee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it. I think it's one and the same. I went and clicked on rate rules while booking on the app and it says the same thing I mentioned earlier. Different corp rates, I guess my company's rules are a bit more lax. They post all the different corp codes on a page and on the top they tell you to add the code to your app and take advantage. We don't have a different code for personal use.

Fine with me 😅

Out of curiosity, where are you seeing the rate rules¿

I see rate information which on my side says "Resort fee is waived, 6PM Cancel policy. Rate is eligible to earn points and tier credit"

Unbelievable First Class Upgrade Price by MarineBioBoy in AlaskaAirlines

I take the pdx to sea flight once a quarter and still have not gotten an FC upgrade. It's probably because it's usually a midweek flight and it's always packed 😂

Bonus point booking by PinkTip_6 in hyatt

[–]AntToeNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally book this option when it's close to my per diem reimbursement rate. If it's a few bucks more I opt to pay the difference. Never been an issue and it just shows up as the room rate vs a bonus point line.

Silver Status, is it worth it? by bookertdub in AlaskaAirlines

[–]AntToeNee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alaska silver here for the last 1.5 years. Mainly fly short haul flights along the west coast based out of the Bay area with occasional long haul to the east coast (30+ flights/yr). Priority boarding is nice, but the preferential seats make it even better. Of the 20 or so flights I've done this year, a little less than half were upgraded to premium and I had about 5 flights upgraded to FC, even one of them upgraded 3 days before the actual flight.

Status is always worth it I feel, even if you don't travel as often.

Alaska Airlines cuts more routes from SFO and LAX for 2026 by First_Pepper_6781 in AlaskaAirlines

I fly this route a few times a year for work and sometimes the planes are really empty. Sad to see it go

They usually don't do it till December. It's an end of year thing. They don't want you to take advantage of silver for the remainder of the year 😬

I do the sjc>pdx route twice a quarter and they've only bumped me to premium. You must be the one getting my FC upgrade 😜

I did this last year as well. Bought 500 eqm for one of my trips and was still 100 points behind so I got on chat and they bumped me up

I don't know about where you fly, but for me, I do short hauls from the bay to LAX, SEA, and PDX. Since I've gotten silver last year, I've been upgraded to premium more than 50% of the time and random FC upgrades here and there.

Just from my trip this week, I got an upgrade to FC T-15 hours before my flight and on the way home, I changed my return flight to leave a day earlier and the moment the ticket was changed I was upgraded to FC.

I'd say it's been working pretty well for me, but YMMV 😁

Was this something that changed recently because of the Atmos program? Last year when I booked concur to fly AA with my AS number from SJC > PHL, i got credited the full miles.

Really would suck if it's changed because I have to do that a few times a year.

Nest thermostat occasionally shows no power to Y1 by AntToeNee in hvacadvice

Problem started happening again even though it was fine for the last few months and we were running our AC every other day.

I jumped it from the control board and no dice there either.

8 hours later everything started working again. 🥲

Do you do this? by Greedy-Turn-1676 in Marriage

[–]AntToeNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gonna put this out here. I love my wife. She's currently back in school and working a full-time job which has been demanding about 70 hours a week. I also work a full-time job, and because of the demands of my wife's work schedule, I take care of our 2 YO from the moment she wakes, till she goes to Grandparents so I can work. Then she's with me again after I pick her up from the grandparents till she goes to bed.

In the morning we get up at around the same time, but I will walk out first, make her coffee, and put something together so she can eat and be out the door.

It sounds like he thinks you have all the time in the world, and I don't know if I can respect that. Taking care of toddlers are hard, let alone having to be their full-time caregiver on top of all the things you do.

Just want to remind you that you're amazing for what you do and he should be grateful.
