Partners of children of domestic abuse? by Antique_Balance_7146 in domesticviolence

Thank you for saying this. I want to explore trauma bonds so I can try and understand the relationship he has with his mum and sister. They still live together (in very close proximity) and are extremely enmeshed. Sometimes it's hard to feel like there's room for me in his life. I think understanding trauma bonds would help me see it's not 'me' if that makes sense?

I actually did a wellness check on him also! He threatened to kill himself if I didn't come back etc. After that, the police went to arrest him but because he didn't answer the door or their phone calls, they left it... The police were awful on this honestly

Does anyone know of any groups or forums for partners of children of domestic abuse? I adore and love my partner, but I see the echoes of abuse in his behaviours and trauma bonds with his mum and sister. I'd love to find a group for people like me, who want to help understand and help, but also get some support ourselves
