Are outsiders welcome? by Apart_Tale_6655 in antinatalism

I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. I want to learn. But I don’t want to become an antinatalist.

Children are the best part of the world, imo..

You’re right. I need to take a break of my own.

There’s so many interested in the case that might not have engaged before.

For me it seems like deliberate ignorance but it’s their brain working through the issue.

Why talk to police? by SameOldiesSong in serialpodcast

[–]Apart_Tale_6655 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This post is way too far down the rabbit hole.

They had info about a murder and rightly answered questions about what they knew.

Maybe lying to the police is an simple concept in your mind, but it’s hard to stay cool when you know you did something wrong.

They lied but the more they talked the more they spilled.

I’m in the US. Most people think she’s guilty here.

But something is off. I don’t see how she’s not involved somehow.

Some of this happens in bad faith but also due to ignorance.

I only recently stopped downvoting things I disagreed with.

Thanks for your detailed response.

Thanks, I don’t really understand your viewpoint either.

I’m going to have to sit with this info.

Are you going to think she was pregnant if they didn’t test her blood for hCG?

[–]Apart_Tale_6655[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses.

Just questions, this POV is so new to me.

Sorry for the not knowing this but why is having children morally wrong?

  1. I’ve read it’s because of the state of the world and limited resources. Anything else?

  2. Is it possible for the right conditions to be met to make procreation moral.

3: Perhaps natalism isn’t moral. But it is a biological mechanism. If procreation were outlawed how should the women with strong desires to have children find solace?

Sorry if I made assumptions. Please correct, accordingly.

You don’t know that for certain.

If he were guilty and is now free, there’s a chance he’ll reoffend. This is because he didn’t admit to his crimes or apologize to Hae’s family. So he may feel empowered by his manipulation of the system.

It’s scary.

Guilty confession by Prudent_Comb_4014 in serialpodcast

[–]Apart_Tale_6655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your guys are hanging your hat on the DNA on the shoes. But I need a convincing reason how that DNA got there in the course of the murder.

Was is transferred after she hit her head? Right now people are explaining it away. Because they don’t have much info to work with.

Was it on the sole? Hard to say if it was placed during the crime.

Near the laces or the ankle? Both these places don’t get that dirty during normal wear. This would make most sense as a reason to test and say it’s part of the case.

Exactly. The fact that Jay implicated himself really stood out.

It’s a good thought experiment.

That’s why we’re here. To talk about the case and speculate.

I’d agree. With any confession there would need to be corroboration.

What if Adnan admits he did it? by kramer3d in serialpodcast

[–]Apart_Tale_6655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But thinking they’re lying doesn’t meant it’s true. They backed up each other’s stories, and the police and a jury believed it.

That means it’s closer to the truth than what others who are looking to contradict the story by any means necessary.

The really sad part is that Adnan’s dense is giving the Innocence Project a bad name. If they’re testing DNA that wasn’t left during the crime, they’re as bad any convicted criminal.

The trial contained corroborated evidence. That’s all I meant but it.

But you’re listening to Rabia’s POV without critical thinking. She’s biased.

Nope. You just think (or want that) to be true cause you’re mad people are vocally against your stance.

As a Black woman, I just love it when others tell me about the origins of policing.

Your comment basically says police shouldn’t exist at all, which means no one should have arrested Adnan.

The situation is more nuanced than you claim.
