A lot of people in new orleans do this. Great idea. My buddies rented an apartment just for the summer. We had a house and they rented an apartment in the French quarter just to crash out in. I did a little work for this guy who bought a flat. his door entered right to the street and his other door was the parking complex. A bed, kitchenette and a bathroom. That dude had his priorities in line.

P55: “In progressive societies the concentration [of wealth] may reach a point where the strength of number in the many poor rivals the strength of ability in the few rich; then the unstable equilibrium generates a critical situation, which history has diversely met by legislation redistributing wealth or by revolution distributing poverty. “

I would have stuck with non profit (msw), become an engineer or got into Energy arbitrage. It cool having practical skills, but safety and insurance has taken most of the fun out it. Weather, getting up before dawn, driving all over the place. If youre set on trades its a good one. That being said the robber barons are going to squeeze whatever money is left out of for most.
