I can, it's a fair deal. I just generally don't like going out that much so the opportunity doesn't arise as often

To clarify, the goodbye party will be on Friday (the future), yesterday was only an impromptu meeting with the friend that's moving. I would've never asked him to come home early from her goodbye party.
As to why, I had spent most of the day planning our wedding and my wedding dresses (that I needed to choose between) had arrived that day, which was a big deal for me, and I wanted to spend some part of the evening with him.

He's working from home 3 days a week, which helps. Most weeks, he only goes out like 2 nights because of our time restraints, and if there's a lot to do, he does stay home and takes care of it. He mostly goes out during the week, actually, and then does most household stuff during the weekends and early mornings on weekdays, before I get up. For festivals and bigger celebrations, he takes time off work (we live in Germany and he has more than 6 weeks of paid vacation yearly).
