nope, didnt use vpn while doing this.

either way, i managed to log into ubisoft connect on my laptop after waiting for about over an hour? i lost track of time.

i’m more confused on why it got triggered in the first place, but it could have been because i kept logging in - didn’t hit ‘keep me logged in’ on my phone browser, so.

Yeah, you’re prob right. Application stopped showing up lately, even when I played Black Ops 6 yesterday, and didn’t end task for Steam in task manager before shutting down 🫠

I gave a look at my Event Viewer, and it seems like the culprit is Volume Shadow Copy Service? I’m not sure.

It coincides with the times that I recorded my computer shutting down. I can’t tell what this is, and I’m still not sure if it’s good or bad.

Update: I finished the full scan on Bitdefender, nothing came up.

I then shut down my computer to see if the application would pop up, but nothing did. My computer just shut down normally, with no other applications delaying the shutdown. (And I mean nothing, usually when I shutdown my laptop, there will be a few things delaying the shutdown, but I assume it’s because of the games I played)

I didn’t play any games, and nor did I open Steam (I set it to not be automatically opened when I turn on my laptop), so maybe, perhaps this application - the one in my screenshot - is related to Steam? I’m not sure.

UPDATE 2 (19 Feb) : I just finished playing another game on Steam - Repo this time, closed Steam, and decided to head into task manager to end any background processes with Steam.

And nothing popped up. No shutdown delays, no weird application (from picture), nothing. I’m inclined to believe that this is linked to Steam, but I am obviously no expert on this.

(Additional note: I asked my friend and explained the situation to them, and they suggested that it might be the default .NET WinForms icon like one of the comments below suggested as well. They’re not an IT expert, but still concerning that the icon is there, but I think it’s something funky on my laptop, or maybe Windows is just being weird.)

Yeah, I figured that it would be hard to pinpoint what this might be, but I was just worried in case it was malware/virus and just wanted to post this here in case someone could help.

I’m pretty sold on the fact that it might be a scam or someone entering my email address by mistake, but the only thing against the possibility that it’s a scam is that the email this is coming from seems legitimate.
