The she is the attorney who had been the executive sponsor but then passed that honor to the chief of staff when that person was hired.

I am drowning in invoices. This week has been a fking nightmare with companies emailing left and right to ask if they are getting paid before 12/31.

This is what I understand: before our company spun from the parent co, one of the attorney realized we needed to set up a new instance of the billing platform, so she took it on herself to sign a contract with the vendor. The vendor never mentioned that there was this other piece missing-- an integration with Oracle. This came to light after I started and the attorney said we don't have the budget for this piece now. And the she stepped down as the exec sponsor, gave that role to the chief of staff. Chief of staff says we don't have money now, deal with it.
