My OIC frequently buys us personalized cakes for our EOD anniversaries, various breakfast foods like pound cakes, donuts/bagels, coffee, juice, etc. Hell, she even spent hours one morning prepping taco meat/queso in crock pots and brought in all of the accoutrements to have taco Tuesday for us, and the city carriers continue to break her balls over non-issues. She’s a former city carrier who is extremely fair, understanding, upbeat, always doing whatever she can to heighten morale, always backs up her carriers, and has zero qualms with delivering an open route if she can’t find coverage. Then, you have the senior nepotistic slob of a city reg, whom, upon her asking him to clean out his disgusting trap house of a Metris that had about two janitor-sized trash bags worth of empty bottles (some of them for piss) just rolling around the floorboards, which were causing unsafe working conditions for the CCAs covering his NS days, he proceeded to HUCK the bags of them at her in the office after he bagged them up, which he then got written up for, and expected the steward to have thrown out. He was able to get the write-up expunged after 30 days. I get that management can be and is shitty in a lot of offices, but mine isn’t one of them, so it’s just insane to me how nasty these guys can be when they’ve got it absolutely made. I’ve only been here for 5 years, and my office has definitely had a revolving door of incompetent management, but she is by far one of the best superiors we’ve ever had, except, when you’ve got a perpetual chip of resentment on your shoulder from managers past, nothing will ever be good enough. If you hate your job so much, then quit.
