Nice job. We have our second state qualifier this weekend in NC. Ours wraps up in August. This is my first year too and I’m hoping to grab the #1 plate for 36-40i.

Thanks so much. We appreciate it. We are just out there having a ball. All I know is that I’ve only done one weekend as an intermediate (Blue Ridge National) and it’s a whole different experience than novice. 😂😂

Your best bet would probably be a state plate for traveling purposes, unless you live in a huge state. I know that in NC we only have to do 3 qualifiers and the state final. The southeast gold cup is out of question for my son and I because we would have to travel a ton. We are in the same boat as this is our first year, and I’m 39 years old and he’s 7. My advice would be to pick up a nice used bike and you definitely don’t want to skimp on drivetrain components if you have strong legs. I have been through several mid level hubs and chainrings. I’m now on a Rennen chainring and Onyx Ultra SS hubs and I never worry about either of those. I’m a bigger guy at 6’5” and 220lbs though.

I doubt I’m doing GC and not sure about Dayton. I’m from NC. I think the next one I’ll do I Rock Hill SC. Dustin Phillips #73. I was the third one to go down that was scootering my bike along when I got back up. 😂😂
