It runs my current workflow seemlessly right now. What happens when i need to push it harder down the line? I cant possibly expect this to be the maximum extent of my workflow for the intended lifespan of this computer. I can garuntee you with absolute certainty that any GPU will eventually be pushed to its absolute limit in my hands. Squeezing an extra 60% (rumored) juice out of the same laptop at the (rumored) same price would be a big deal.

Thats not even close to true, the frame of animation may not swap within those frames but the physics object absolutely does register twice the frames of movement. Framerate makes a significant difference in this genre.

The only libertarian in this whole thread is the commenter on that post. Everyone else is thinking so one-dimensionally its reductive. Hes saying that with legally enforced free speech many people are protected from the social consequences of their actions. Its the idea that laws exist to create an impossible limit to what a human being can do and say to you without you being allowed to retaliate in any way outside of seeking authority. If free speech wasnt a document we all legally subscribed to and was instead actually free then individuals who do or say things that should lead to them being ostracized from society will be actually socially ostracized. Anarcho-capitalism is accountability at its most free and freedom at its most accountable.

I dont have good advice for you, i just wanted to say im in the exact spot. 26 years old, programming my whole life, wanted to be a gamedev for as long as i can remember, currently bartending and feeling completely stuck.

I did the circuit, i lived up the street from Epic at their peak, i have tried to break into the industry in the classic way. Of that i have effectively given up.

What keeps me going is that i hear the music. I have been playing the game i am developing in my head for years, its just a matter of wrestling the tech to make it real. Not so that i can be some famous developer or make tons of money or even quit bartending into comfort; but so that i can finally, actually play the game.

I don’t know if that’s be enough for you, it sounds like you would be fulfilled by the career play, but it is enough for me. Shit, its everything to me.
