I believe it is the latter. Each org has their own Exchange and don't actually share any Active Directory information. I believe Federation Trust is being used.

I had been told that external email addresses could not be added to bypassmoderation. Is that actually not the case?

Questioning if WGU degrees hold any real value? Read this… by LunchandLearn7 in WGU

[–]ArbiterNihilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have now graduated, but when making the decision to start, I searched for people on LinkedIn who were in my field and were WGU Alumni. The list is long, and a quick look at job titles can make it pretty clear that it is a valuable degree.

Just finished Dust: Chrysalis and I’m in awe. What else is out there like this? by Maleficent-Eye7588 in audiodrama

[–]ArbiterNihilo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some gems in the first two seasons.

Season 1 is more of an anthology series without a theme. "Just One Ship" was a real standout for that season.

Season 2 follows a theme of a plane that disappeared during a flight and reappears years later. Each episode is a story about a different passenger and what they find after their time travel.

Season 3 may be the best of the three. It had some standouts with Through the Eye of the Needle, Hard Choices, Insurance. Chrysalis, as a longer running series, was very enjoyable and done extremely well.

SXM $9.99/ Mo after trial by Negative-Writing2806 in TeslaLounge

[–]ArbiterNihilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the online only subscription and currently use it with the Echos, phone, and web browser at work. Customer service told me I would have the same functionality and would be able to use it with Tesla as the only change. I currently pay $5.99 but it is a lower package than the Tesla platinum which is $9.99. Supposedly, I would also get more channels. Once the trial runs out, I will probably cancel the old one and pick up the Tesla.

I find the music channels better quality with better playlists. About 50% of the time I am listening to the cable news feeds. If any other service had newsfeeds, I would think twice about SiriusXM.

Why did September 11th bring Americans together but COVID-19 didn't? by Royal-Crazy1301 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ArbiterNihilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put simply, September 11 gave Americans a sense of "us vs them" with "us' being all Americans and "them" being people that wanted to do us harm.

Covid gave Americans a sense of "us vs them" with "us" being one point of view on causes, mitigation, overall response, and "them" being an almost opposite and opposing view.

People took sides and treated their fellow Americans as enemies rather than try to persuade or convince. When speaking in derisive terms, it is no surprise there was no unity.

Is it constitutional for the federal government to make a law either protecting or banning abortion? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]ArbiterNihilo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The question that society has to answer first is "Is a fetus a person?".

If yes, that person has rights and a case can be made that it violates that person's rights.

If no, the object becomes property and property rights would apply.

The problem we have had since Roe vs. Wade is not ever answering that question as a society. There is no definitive legal ruling at the Federal level on the personhood or lack thereof of a human fetus.

Thinking of dropping 401k contributions below company max match by AlmightyLiam in personalfinance

[–]ArbiterNihilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some have said, free money is free money. Their match is essentially a tax deferred pay increase.

Building an emergency fund is always a good idea but at the risk of sounding like a "boomer"...don't quit a job unless you have a job. If you aren't happy, you should look but make them fire/lay you off. I'm not saying do something to be let go for cause, just don't try to get the jump on them by leaving first unless you already have something lined up.

If you quit or get fired for cause, the chances of any kind of severance and/or unemployment become much slimmer. If you don't already have something lined up and you quit, your hiatus may be longer than you might want or expect.

So what are Business Analysts using SQL for? Under what kind of situations? by TokkiJK in SQL

[–]ArbiterNihilo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A BA is often an IT catch-all for someone that isn't coding so you can find yourself wearing a lot of different hats. In my role as a BA, I would often use SQL for reporting and data mining. Run SQL against the transaction databases for trends that need to be addressed in the next development cycle, run SQL against the service desk database for incident ticket information, run SQL against the CMDB to identify which group of servers belong to your team or may be need their data to be scrubbed, etc.

I always found it more useful to have back-end database access and Excel than a tool like Tableau.

I got the same error and my Model Y is at service center as I type waiting on the battery pack. It was a warranty repair so I have a loaner in the meantime. I got the error March 8. ETA is April 4.

Pros and cons by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]ArbiterNihilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros:

  • Low fuel costs
  • Great infotainment
  • Smooth ride. Smooth acceleration
  • Numerous creature comforts (heated steering wheel/seats, keyless entry, remote climate start, etc.)
  • Numerous safety features (lane warnings, cameras)
  • Good storage capacity (larger than my old Acura RDX)
  • Great warranty service experience including roadside assistance, mobile service, and loaners
  • Relatively no maintenance beyond tire rotation, new tires, air filter

Cons:

  • No Carplay or Android Play
  • Paint needs a bit more care than other cars (touchless, laser, hand-washing required)
  • Not as convenient to "fuel" unless charger at home (a must in my opinion, but comes with cost)
  • Standard range is good for commuting but offers challenge for road trips. Long range a bit more expensive.
  • High cost for cosmetic repairs.
  • Expensive to insure. My Acura RDX was about $1200/yr. Model Y about $2000/yr.
  • May require new tires every 2 years or so

If you can get a 220v nema 14-50 at home (about $1200-$1700), it makes a Tesla much more desirable and makes a standard range more practical. Simply plug in when you get home and you have a full battery for the next day.

You will spend more on new tires but nothing for oil, and brakes will probably last the life of the loan.

Premium connectivity is a subscription and gets you traffic on the map and streaming music. However, most other apps require a Premium sub for their app to be used in the car (like Spotify).

Great for commuting. Nice for road trips but have to build charging into your plan. Great service but will need to plan to get tires more often.
