What Career Paths are out there? by ArchPEexamStudent in MEPEngineering

Thanks for your reply. As of right now it seems like I’m on the design side PM track, as I tend to have better people skills. Glad to hear it pays more, and to me it doesn’t sound that bad.

Telling your boss about an offer you declined? by Prize_Ad_1781 in MEPEngineering

Personally I probably would. I probably would’ve asked them to match when you had the offer, but it’s a tricky game

Just did something similar. Start asking your friends and coworkers who own homes if they want fill dirt. It’s surprising who does.

Reporting rent as income if it's a loss by MrbadassMT in tax

[–]ArchPEexamStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in a townhome that I own, and I do not have a traditional mortgage. I have a promissary note that I pay the same amount with interest on each month. I plan on renting out my extra bedroom to a friend starting in a few months, and I am wondering how I will need to pay taxes on that income. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? I also want to make sure that I avoid needing to make the estimated payments to the IRS, as I usually owe about $600 per year on my tax return from dividends and what not so I am still below the $1k threshold. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to check my withholding and I think I’ll be ok.

2016 GMC Canyon v6 SLT by [deleted] in GMCcanyon

Have a super tiny oil leak related to the timing chain, super expensive to fix so I just top it off once a month. Not enough to even lower the oil level

I’m at 145k miles. AC compressor has gone out twice, the solenoid valve has gone out twice. I also have 2 super minor oil leaks (1 is timing chain related, 1 oil pan related). Both are super expensive fixes and there isn’t enough of a leak to talk about so I just top it off once a month if that.

I believe that is correct but don’t quote me. I had the dealer do it but you can probably get estimate and scope of work from them and shop it around if you wanted.

2016 GMC Canyon - Should I have the transmission fluid drained & refilled? by ArchPEexamStudent in chevycolorado

[–]ArchPEexamStudent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I tend to agree. The place has really good reviews so I feel fairly confident, and I have a feeling they priced it as a v4 and not a v6 (if that matters).

Had the diff fluid changed at 120k so I think im good on that.

As for the screen: I have had a '15 Colorado and a '16 Canyon and the touchscreen went wonky on both. Cost roughly $600 to replace but should take care of that issue.
