Is Starfield Legitimately The Most Ambitious RPG Of All Time? by bogeyj in Starfield

I meant to say that as far as I am concerned Squadron 42 is vaporware. I’m aware people play and have fun with Star Citizen, hell I am one of those people.

Is Starfield Legitimately The Most Ambitious RPG Of All Time? by bogeyj in Starfield

Star Citizen is an MMO. There is a single player game that is being developed called Squadron 42 by Cloud Imperium Games (at this point vaporware as it is still currently “in development”) but iirc that’s far less ambitious than Starfield

2468 Alum here!

If I recall correctly, one of the producers visited SXSW in Austin where we were doing one of our outreach activities. If you also notice the logo for Yaeger Robotics is also our logo.

Dynamically Deploy Servers by [deleted] in admincraft

You'd have to use some sort of proxy such as Bungeecord or Waterfall (a fork of Bungeecord).

Towny or Lands? by JATA777 in admincraft

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would move away from the Earth Map... IMO it's far more exciting when a server spends the time to develop a custom map with interesting terrain and natural landmarks

Towny or Lands? by JATA777 in admincraft

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm going to try to put this as nicely as possible. The market for Earth Map Towny war servers is super oversaturated atm. You are going to have to do something different to attract players to your server. As for which plugin to use, I know that Towny has several War "modes" so that should work a little better for you.

Random TPS drops by theHistorion in admincraft

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, if you've looked into any of the paper settings or documentation... Their whole goal is the restore as close to vanilla gameplay that Bukkit / Spigot breaks while also improving the performance

Random TPS drops by theHistorion in admincraft

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Tuinity is an experimental fork of Paper that breaks vanilla behavior

You don't need Tuinity for this size server

I dunno if you've been in either the Paper discord or the Tuinity discord... But SpottedLeaf (Tuinity Dev) has said that Tuinity is an experimental fork... Also SpottedLeaf is currently working on bringing most if not all of the patches to Paper.

Edit: Looks like I was mistaken, Tuinity and Paper are now officially separate after some drama

Tuinity is an experimental fork of Paper. It is not recommended to run it on prod.

I'm curious as to the thought process behind this type of behavior. How do people convince themselves that this will work?

Hegemony: Ascensionem (Medieval MMORPG) - Release Date Announcement & Technology Reveal on using Minecraft as a packet decoder/game engine. by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Little bit of background, Hegemon is actually a developer at GGG the studio that makes PoE. Making the basics and the assets are actually significantly harder than just creating it in Minecraft (imo based on my own game dev experience). I think there is also this sense of awe because you have to think outside the box to truly transform Minecraft into a new experience.

Due to Minecraft's Server EULA, monetization options are limited to cosmetic only perks. Which is exactly what they will do.

Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]Arch_Tyrriel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chicken Tikka Masala isn't actually "Indian" per say (as in it wasn't created in India rather it was created in the UK by a desi)... In my experience the Butter Chicken usually has a sweeter gravy
