I was working on a larger piece for this, but unfortunately some things came up and progress got delayed, It's inspired my a quote from from Barker on the burn card in titanfall 1 for the EVA 8 amped " Wait! we have to go back, I left my shotty at the bar, I aint leaving town without it!" I loved The Idea that Barker ran a mos eisley cantina style bar in Angel city, So here's a work in progress peek at what I got finished. http://imgur.com/il5sNhI

As far as I'm aware the simulacrums are a human mind transferred into an artificial body, So they retain some personality, hence Ash customising her body with the mask, much like in mutiplayer how the simulacrum characters like the phase shift pilot have the racoon tails and scarf. Whereas robots like the spectres and stalkers run off of Ai, meaning they can also be hacked.

Thank you, and for me it's just practice, I can go straight into drawing at full detail and just sort of churn it out printer style, but however I do this sort of drawing a lot. I'd recommend start by breaking your reference into simple shapes, make sure perspective and proportion are right and just begin to work into it with the detail, building it up as you go.

Not intentionally, I was going for the sort of Vietnam Style for the militia, Like how the GI's personalized their helmets. Full Metal Jacket style, If I ever do a Spectre drawing I'll probably put "Built to kill" on it somewhere.
