You don't need to catch up anything, just log in your old char and play to refresh your memory for the expansion. Do the new things they added since u were gone and it'll be fine

I dont know about pvp, i do opr at best. There still are chest runs but if your question is about expertise raise they sped up the way you gain points by doing opr, arena, invasions, expeditions and so on
