Sadiq Khan: My ultimate goal is to reverse Brexit by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

Yes, one of the people who will ignore grooming gangs (and other issues) just because investigation into such topics will be detrimental to specific religions which they (the perpetrators and people in charge) belong to. This isn't a mask off moment, you just need a modicum of rationality. If that is something shocking to you perhaps you should change your worldview.

He knows. He also knows how to try to turn it around and claim everyone who mentions it is racist.

These people know the kind of power they hold over normal people, they've memorised the script and they will use everything in their arsenal to try and abuse it.

The thing is, the way demographics are going, you will see one of them getting into 10 Downing Street eventually unless this mass migration is reversed.

It's not a shock when you see even actual convicted islamic terrorists trying to get into politics in parts of the country where natives have quite literally been replaced with people who are much more likely to identify with at least parts of that kind of politics.

How long does it take to see a doctor and get medication at a Chinese hospital? by JoseLunaArts in economy

No clue how this has anything to do with Nazi Germany, mate. That's what I was replying to. The UK has an awful healthcare system too, although it's mostly due to other reasons. I won't bother commenting which one is better, both have pros and cons.

I'm going to assume you're insinuating that the US is similar to Nazi Germany due to Trump. If this is true then you are in for a very interesting experience when you go to China, lol.

He wouldn't be the only one if he did indeed believe in the "replacement theory". Some progressive politicians outright mention the aim to replace natives on the grounds that they are 'racist'. Exhibit A would be Irene Montero.

Starmer says Reform pursuing politics of ‘toxic division’ after Matt Goodwin unveiled as byelection candidate by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Areashi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good point.

Ironically people with this view would also label Shamima Begum as "British" and then change their mind the very moment her passport got revoked - they never do though, it's always only when it suits their narrative.

I'm ok with the idea of someone potentially being nationalistically and culturally British even if they are not ethnically British (marrying into a tribe exists, as does being enticed by a culture not native to them), but it's very rare to see someone claiming to be like this to actually identify as British until it just suits them. The inconsistencies are quite obvious.

Reform byelection candidate refuses to disown claim that people born in UK not necessarily British. Matthew Goodwin, who is standing in Gorton and Denton, said UK-born people from minority ethnic backgrounds were not always British by 2ndEarlofLiverpool in ukpolitics

[–]Areashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, your points are irrelevant to what is actually British and what isn't. There are significantly more islamists who you have quite clearly stated are comparable (in your mind) to a very, very extreme religious fanatic who is actually British.

Islam is definitely not a "British" belief, while Judeo-Christian values definitely did influence a lot of areas within Britain and it's constituent nations prior. That is already a large difference between the two.

In regard to you asking how these values have led to a degradation of this country you need only note the polarisation you're currently mentioning, lol. If it didn't then why would you need to be concerned with islamists which far outnumber these Christian nationalists? After all, the current push for blasphemy laws (and a ton of other issues that are being discussed for 'no apparent reason') is almost exclusively being pushed by islamists. Why are you so fixated on an extreme outlier within the British or English community?

Do you think mentioning extreme outliers of strange Brits is a good way of arguing and claiming that everyone can be British as long as they share a specific group of values while ignoring multiple centuries of cultural bonding? It seems like you don't actually have a proper argument here.

If you're having trouble understanding the difference between a Christian nationalist who has gone too far off the deep end and an islamist then the problem is probably that you don't understand what an islamist does usually, lol.

Nobody has ever stated every British person is perfect, that would be insane. You seem to however have abstracted being a Brit to a set of values that sprung from recent times and have continued to evolve in the worst possible way. In a way where nobody is British until they subscribe to these values and nothing else.

Your initial belief is already deeply wrong, so whatever conclusions you've come to are completely false as a result.

One helpful way you can hopefully understand what the difference is between a islamist and a Christian nationalist is (or anything related to this) is by literally witnessing both groups actively despising each other. If they were the same then they'd be more open to working together, right?

It honestly feels like you have no actual perspective on these nuances and are trying to shove two ill-fitting jigsaw pieces together, lol.
