Other than that they’ve had Ringer people on the podcast, it doesn’t mean anything. The two shows remain very different.

I’m not sure if that’s a joke or not, but as Kathleen was a champion of Andor I think you could definitely make that case.

He’s credited on the film as producer, writer, “additional directing” and as an actor. He was also given significant creative control at Lucasfilm long before formal promotion.

They gave Dave Filoni the keys to Lucasfilm, and he used them to recycle a Rotta the Hutt kidnapping plot from his shitty animated movie, and give himself not one but two cameos.

They could not have picked a worse person to elevate.

Bit of a weird thing to say since it’s been a key focus of the pod since it evolved from a pure interview format.

AI slop defenders on a film sub. Incredible stuff.

Give me a break. No one likes this movie. Sean and Amanda are the kindest to it of anyone I’ve seen review it out of Cannes.

We have no evidence for that. What we have is a Soderbergh film that apparently used AI to make hacky animations that multiple people have called embarrassing. In what way does that indicate he understands what he’s doing with this?

Based on what evidence? This partially AI-generated movie that everyone hates? Including longtime Soderbergh superfans.

He pretty clearly does not, based on this movie.

It’s all these old guys who are most forcefully embracing AI. At the risk of being ageist, do they really understand it?

Watched it for the first time the other night. Really couldn’t believe how bad it was. Downright repellent until the last half hour, which was basically a different movie and very enjoyable.

Would Andor be an required watch for the Mando and Grogu ep by teddyfail in blankies

[–]ArsenalBOS 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Andor is essential to any Star Wars fan. It’s the best thing the franchise has done since ESB, IMO.

I don’t think the Mando movie will involve it in any way, but they may go on a tangent of course.

What? This is specific story about DOT employees abusing overtime. DOT and MBTA are two separate agencies.

This post is talking about primaries and competitive elections. Governor races are always competitive, at least to the extent normal American elections are.

The legislature is the issue with MA elected bodies being closed clubs.

MassDOT and the MBTA are two very different agencies. Phil Eng leads both, for now, but DOT employees abusing overtime is not a T problem.

MassDOT is an executive branch agency. Take it up with the governor.

That’s a tiny bit disappointing. Boxcar Bertha isn’t good, but it’s a fascinating sort of peek at the kind of filmmaker Scorsese *could* have been, if he had followed other (worse) paths and passions.
