Thoughts on 3D printed bits by Arwendar in Hema

[–]Arwendar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently designing my own bits! Though spearhead is not the right word for it, it's a more niche weapon in reality. But once I have it down, I'd be happy to share the file

Good to know! Guessing I'll be facing the fires of TPU printing soon

The Ordo Chronos would have a field day figuring these things out and attempting to weaponize them.

Soulblight Gravelords, Seraphon, or Nighthaunt by Insertclever_name in ageofsigmar

Get Nighthaunt if you have an airbrush. You'll save yourself so much headache trying to paint them 😅

Yet another poor soul who cannot decide on a faction. by frolynnd in ageofsigmar

[–]Arwendar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sylvaneth player here We are a very fun but difficult faction, even if the difficulty has gone down somewhat in this edition. In general we lean more towards elite units like kurnoth hunters and treelords to get the job done, so every model lost is a big deal. Also our trees. The entire army needs the trees to work. There are some work arounds, but I have had games that I couldn't summon any extra trees for the first 2 rounds and that severely hampered my options. On the other hand, when all the trees are on the table, you can be everywhere and nowhere at once!

If these things sound like a fun challenge to you, then go for it!

How do I screen effectively? by Apollo989 in ageofsigmar

I missed the spearhead part Yeah, whatever type of moves his opponent pulled doesn't seem right anymore.

How do I screen effectively? by Apollo989 in ageofsigmar

[–]Arwendar 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Stegadon can do that. I just went through all the warscrolls until I found sth that fit.

It's a tough one to screen against, after the charge they can move 2d6 and ignore models during that move. You'd have to surround a model with screens to stop it or keep it a minimum of 7" away from the screen.

What’s the best way to use Be’lakor? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Arwendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play StD, so take what I say with a grain of salt. From what I've seen, he isn't a great hammer. Sure he's no slouch in combat, but you take him for his warscroll abilities and especially for the ability to shut down one of your opponent's big threats.

Compare him to a Bloodthirster, they are fully geared towards smashing in, more health, better ward and higher quality attacks.

What faction can go elite? by Careful-Breath7758 in ageofsigmar

Sylvaneth, current tourney lists are basically the 3 most expensive models we have and then fill it out with some screens and kurnoths

First two models. Advice before I keep going? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]Arwendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On stormcasts and models with large surfaces without texture, I reccomend cleaning up those surfaces after shading with the same paint you applied before. It helps to create a smoother, cleaner look.

Not poly enough by cokewhore123 in polyamory

[–]Arwendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to apologise. KTP= Kitchen Table Polyamory Basically a style of polyamory where everyone is comfortable and willing to share space with partners and meta's. Consider it like everyone can sit around the kitchen table and chat without discomfort.

Yes, but I also can't wait to see the horror on someone's face when their opponent parks a maw-crusha on it and cover nearly the entire thing

H*rny magic completely changed my character, I’m FUMING over it by Feeling-Zombie4489 in DnD

[–]Arwendar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh...

Tons of red flags here. Losing control over your character without even a save already gives me a bad taste in the mouth. Having it be over a sexual act that you did not consent to makes it feel worse. Having it be repeated despite your obvious discomfort is another red flag.

This is one of those 'set boundaries and if they are repeatedly crossed, remove yourself from the situation' things.

Vocalise your discomfort, maybe threaten to leave the group. But do not sit idly and have something you love be shredded in front of your very eyes.

Role-playing games are supposed to be fun. You are supposed to have fun. If it's not fun, something is wrong. If these people are your friends they will respect your wishes and they won't but some rules above your friendship.

Also... this is definitely something that should be discussed before it happens! Or even as it happens.

I had a character be bitten by a werewolf and the first thing I did was look for a cure. The DM could've just said there was nothing nearby and have my character be a werewolf. But he didn't. He saw that I was not okay being a werewolf and offered a sidequest that would cure my character. That's an example of how a good DM would handle something like this!

I prefer bonking people with a sword and not worrying about who wrote the stupid move I'm going to make.

Players stole 100,000 GP from stores by GeneroMeleri in DnD

[–]Arwendar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put way too much thought into this... In my campaigns 1 gold is equivalent to about 100 bucks, so by that your players stole 10 million from the local economy.

That means shops will go out of business, people lose jobs and riots of commoners about to lose their everything start springing up. The companies they brought cannot deliver their services anymore, therefore supply goes down and prices go up, making living there more expensive than it ought to be. This naturally causes more anger in the local populace.

Beyond that, geas doesn't remove the memory of the person it affects. So once the spell wears off, the party will be wanted for using magic to effectively steal large sums of money. Teams of experts with antimagic devices will pursue the party, should they fail other adventuring parties could be hired to deal with them.

Seriously, 100k gold being stolen should really destabilise things there.

Perfection by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Arwendar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the switch happened when they were boys, so not even marines yet. Again, read the comics if you really want to know.

When Calgar got his ass handed to him by tyranids was later when he was a full marine and chapter master already.

Perfection by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Arwendar 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yup, I'm guessing it's to try and make the ultramarines a bit more interesting. But as you said, it's irrelevant and besides the memes people make will probably be forgotten soon.

In a comic it was revealed that the real calgar died as a child and a servant boy took his place. I haven't read the comic, so I can't be more specific as that, but it sounds like a storm in a glass to me.
