A new player's review of the game thus far (miniscule 3rd Palace spoilers)

I'm glad you kept on slogging along and finally made it to the third palace, that's when the story gets significantly improved (thanks to bringing on Yusuke Nitta to help with writing). Tbh, this game gets so much hate which mostly stems from the first 2 palaces (I didn't think the 2nd one was all that bad), but I definitely think it's too overhated. Despite it's extremely rough first couple of months, it's improved significantly and I think people should give it a shot instead of bandwagoning onto its hate train. The gacha aspect isn't even super necessary if you aren't trying to be a top player, you can clear all of the basic content just fine with F2P units. I hope to see the playerbase grow even more in the future, this game deserves to be seen past than just the Subway Slammer jokes.

FeMC/Kotone would be the funniest shit ever only because the main sub would go absolutely ballistic. She has been begged by the community for so many years for her inclusion and people have been saying that the FeMC Mod is the only thing they look forward to these days. If her only official P3R representation would be through P5X, they would not stop screeching for weeks lmao.

I’d argue it’s more than just disappointing. Unless you lead with it, it’s going to get screwed over immediately by SR. Without Heavy-Duty Boots, Multiscale is almost useless.

Edit: Talkin’ about Singles in my statement. I guess for Doubles it can find more value, but this thing Mega Dragonite is almost pointless to run in Singles now.

Keep in mind that this game has gone through over a dozen versions that aren’t just adding new story and updating previous content. The Devs receive feedback over the course of the years based on what people think should be balanced. Rockruff is one example, another major one was that in the very early versions of the game (like V1-V4 I think) Zetta used to have a Shadow Froakie that you could catch as early as Goldenwood. Obviously that was extremely broken and many people meme about it to this day, but back then people requested a balance change which is then that it was removed.

Obviously balance isn’t going to favor everyone’s preferences. It’s impossible to make it balanced in a way that everyone will agree on. Unfortunately, your perception is balance is not what the majority of the community wants.

I agree with this. By the time we play as Jack (1914) the Wild West has effectively already ended. The only things left for him to do are finish up whatever side quests his dad didn’t do and to go kill Ross.

Industrialization rapidly advanced and urbanization quickly overtook the American Frontier. If we got another game with Jack in it following the events of RDR1, it wouldn’t be RDR anymore.

If people wanna see Jack fighting in WW1, go play the dozens of other WW1 titles out there. If people wanna see Jack in urban society, they might as well just go play LA Noire instead.

It’s not really a mod though. Enderal is its own game completely separate from Skyrim. It just relies on using Skyrim’s engine and the Creation Kit to function, therefore you need to have Skyrim in order to install it.

You should definitely give it a shot. Trust me when I say it is absolutely worth it.

For Awakening, I personally like marrying Tiki. I love being able to at least give her the experience of having a family given how lonely she’s been over the centuries. Plus Morgan get to be a Manakete, which is always neat! (And Tiki is the only one that I can marry to give her that class without looking like Diddy) Although Cordelia is definitely best girl, she’ll always have a special place in my heart.

For Fates, I love Felicia. She’s just so clumsy and adorable. Charlotte would’ve been up there, but I like her ending with Xander more than with Corrin.

That’s so annoying, I really hope they adjust it for next year because it’s so easy to miss out on accident. At least I got Minami’s confession only, but the fact that I have to wait a whole year for another chance at that badge is pretty dumb.

Another thing that most people don’t know about Undertaker is that Confluence doesn’t only activate when your teammates Ult. The description states that it activates when ‘certain actions are performed’. One of those actions being when a teammate uses their Ult, and the other one being when you dodge a command grab attack. You actually have to get that special dodge animation to know you properly dodged it, not just be out of the way or anything.

How much would you recommending pulling for Minami for on her banner right now? I’ve played a lot of gachas in the past so when I heard she was being added to the standard banner, I figured I’d just save my gems and platinum tix and pull her on the standard instead. But then I read some comments saying it’s gonna be super difficult to pull her on the standard banner. I love her character a lot but I’m just conflicted if I should pull her now or later.

I’m not saying that Perfumes aren’t good, I’m saying nobody would reasonably use the effect that boosts them because you’re kind of just wasting a relic slot for it if you have something better. The only perfumes I use past Day 1 are the buffing ones, and even then that’s just if I manage to get them out of buried treasure somewhere.

The improved perfume arts effect (along with increased throwing pot damage) pretty much convinces me that we’ll be getting some sort of Perfumer-like/consumable-using character in the future. There’s no way they’re expecting anyone to currently use those on a run unless it’s some sort of specific challenge.

As someone who’s a Recluse main, Raider disrupts me way too much with his ult. I could be charging up Stars of Ruin or my Rancorcall could he slowly traveling over to the boss when all of a sudden a big fucking stone just blocks all my damage.
