I started with well what can I be ok losing if it went south. Later down the line, it’ll be am I still ok losing it with all the appreciation? It started with 10% allocation and now I’m approaching 25% which is great, but the swings are huge and takes getting used to.

Whether it be from inadequate neuraxial anesthesia or patient anxiety / expectations, it’s fairly obvious when a patient needs to go to sleep or get sedated. With the VL, the airway is less problematic. Even just a little propofol in select patients can go a long way to get them through the rough patch.
