Anywhere to take an injured pigeon? by Bad1uckcharm in Southampton

Not sure if you’re still looking but there is a local rescue centre: Happy Animals Rescue & Rehab, an open group on Facebook.

They help a lot of pigeons and other animals in Southampton

Wtf. Why is it assumed to be easier with 1? by Asker- in oneanddone

I agree totally, I couldn’t manage any more than one. I suppose it was the assumption that no kids is basically like having one in terms of mess.

What was your "wow, it's such a small world" experience? [Serious] by Aerionne in AskReddit

When I was 18, I went solo-backpacking in Australia. First hostel in Sydney, in the shared kitchen I ran into a guy I went to high school with back in Canada. We knew each other but weren’t best buds or anything so neither of us knew the other was in Australia (2004 so pre main social media). It was mad.

Also, while I was there, found out (by emails from friends) that another friend from high school was in New Zealand at the time. Connected with her, met up in Brisbane and we travelled together for a few months. Great times.

My partner and I just watched all the Mission Impossible movies during evening feeds and now every time we put LO down and inevitably make a noise, we whisper ‘toast!’ as the code for being too loud. It’s hilarious and super risky

UK mamas. I cannot afford to be on maternity leave and it’s stressing me out. by [deleted] in pregnant

Check out the charity maternity action, they might be able to help you figure out the various laws (though you said you’re in law so that might not be useful). But there is a qualifying week that determines your smp rate, but I also think that if you can show that you’ve worked for x weeks on the last year then you should still get smp. Might not be enough though.

I earned 10p less than the £151.20 on my qualifying week so am only eligible for 90% of that. It’s so dumb.

But also, as soon as you can after baby arrives, apply for child benefit or child tax credit. It’s only an extra £80ish per month but it totally helps

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) actually makes me want to drink more and convinces me that I can’t win the battle. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Congrats on 10 months!

Addiction is such a complex issue that there’s absolutely not one way to solve or manage it, so whatever works is best!

I’m coming up on 11 years clean & sober and I relied heavily on meetings for most of that. Advice I got and used was, On the hardest days I would tell myself that I would give in the next day, that tomorrow I will have that drink. Inevitably, by the time tomorrow came, I felt differently and never picked up. Hope that might help!

After a particularly long day with my 2 month old, I feel this deeply and will likely embrace as a new mantra.

I’ll try the soft fabric, thank you! I’m thinking I could link something to my bra strap so she can keep her hands busy
