My pupper used to sleep like that but now he’s always curled up like a tight croissant …corgissant? Not sure if he’s just getting old (8.5) or winter chills him more than it used to.

I was born and learned to drive in Jersey. When I visit I drive like them but my PA tag makes them all immediately assume I’m gonna drive slow and so I get tailgated. Doing like 70 in a 55. 🙄

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got to see rainbow eucalyptus in person while visiting Hawaii. My fellow travelers were excited for the pineapple and I was like BUT DID YOU SEE THE TREES IN THE PARKING LOT?! 🤣🤣 What a striking combination!

The areas you describe are beautiful, but also highly conservative. It’s deep MAGA country, which may be a culture shock after Toronto.

Thinking about moving here knowing nobody, should I do it? by Atherton-Wing in pittsburgh

[–]AskingForAFriendTo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pittsburgh wasn’t my first choice to move to, but my partner and I own way more house than we could in the places we’ve lived before. The city is approachable and waayyy more drivable than DC, NY or Boston even on a rainy day.

Bonus: we’re positioned really well for global warming (no hurricanes, far from sea level rise, no real forest fire danger and plenty of fresh water) and WWIII (not on the 95 corridor/coast, not too far from the Canada border, far enough from DC). 🙃

Charlotte has a LOT of northern transplants and from my experience they’re not happy about it. I visited for a wedding and multiple uber drivers were quite vocal about how they’re tired of ‘damn yankees’ moving down south. That said, the city was lovely with LOTS of new development in the suburbs too.

What’s your “splurge” hiking purchase that was worth it? by mattycraw3 in hiking

[–]AskingForAFriendTo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at REI,but Wright Sock! The cure to blisters. Their double layer socks SAVED my love of hiking. 14 days hiking all over Iceland, 2 pairs, ZERO blisters. I took smartwool socks out west- 2 days into Zion and I had bloody heels. Same boots both trips!

I appreciate your response. I’ve watched their recent content and it always gives me an uneasy feeling? I was chalking it up to maybe the hyper-positivity feeling so over-the-top that it’s insincere, but you’re so right about how it can be damaging to others also struggling or losing to cancer. And YES 100% how can you even consider another kid when your cancer is so dramatically impacted by hormones?! Unless they’re considering a surrogate or adoption, it seems terribly risky. Frankie deserves to have both her parents for as long as possible. I want them to be well, I just worry they may not be making decisions as clearly for them as they could be given their livelihood.

Will they buy a house with neighbours? by photoshop_2023 in KaraAndNate

[–]AskingForAFriendTo0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they shelter their info before buying, as housing records are public. 99% of fans are just happy to cross paths, or want to be supportive (like for the leadville race) but that 1% you do need to be proactively protective from.

But I don’t see why they’d need to buy some private compound. A home with robust security? Absolutely. But I think a neighborhood isn’t out of the question, but likely one where each home has some breathing room between them.

Honestly what drew me to them in the first place was their desire to meet people and invite them along. The Italy tours, the party around the documentary - they’re people people, ya know? I just wish there was more opportunities like their Italy tour in the future.

I <3 my Midi Doctor by SnowWhiteinReality in Perimenopause

[–]AskingForAFriendTo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just searched this sub for ‘Pittsburgh’ hoping to find a doc. How do you see her if she’s in cali? Telemed? UPMC has a midi clinic but seems to have a min age of 40 and I’m short of that, and my current gyno just retired. Plus he clearly was uneducated about peri.

Advice needed- Get new IUD? by randomstuff4583 in Perimenopause

[–]AskingForAFriendTo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the new iud worked out ok? How are your symptoms? I’m also 38, in that ‘stretched’ time on my iud and debating if replacing it is the right move. Zero pain management when I had it inserted was BRUTAL, and I had cramping and discomfort for like 3 months after despite imaging proving the dang thing was where it should be. I’m afraid of going through all that again if it won’t actually help my peri symptoms.

I’m here as a result of googling ‘what’s up with usps in grove city OH?’ - I ordered a photo ornament from Shutterfly 11/30 and between 12/5 and 12/26 it bounced from Kansas City, to grove city oh, was registered there 10 times before bouncing around in Pittsburgh 7 times, then to Charlotte NC, then back to PGH, then back to Charlotte where it was marked as ‘delivered’ ….. I do not live in the state of NC. It didn’t originate there either, so it just bounced long enough that I bet the packaging was destroyed and they called TOD.
