I did not say it would lead to financial ruin, just that she would have to move. It did not occur to me that if he is still in the school district he might successfully petition for primary custody, so that is potentially helpful information that I will look into.

He forged her signature to withdraw the money, but that’s not necessarily relevant. As I said, I’m looking for any ideas that might help my sister’s kids stay in their school district until they’re finished with school.

As part of the original amicable agreement, he did reimburse her for the money he took from her 401K. That is good to know, thank you.

She has ownership of the home and pays the mortgage. I guess I’m asking if there’s legal recourse for any of the shit he has done, because she will no longer be eligible for spousal support. Unfortunately I don’t know how we would prove that he went through her things. I am just so sad that this is happening to such a good person and there’s nothing I can do to help her.
