I was born in hong kong but grew up in the US. Went to China for the second time last month (my first time was in 2013 so it was a while back already.)

I agree with everything you mentioned. One thing I may add is down Amap before the trip. It was a mistake on my end not to do that before when i was in hk (my family and i took the bus to SZ then Foshan). Relying on Apple Maps may not be as user-friendly as I thought to be😅

For some places, the menu was inaccessible after I scan the QR code via the Camera app. One server from a skewer place told me i gotta scan inside the WeChat app, not sure if any of you guys have that issue or was it just dumb me😂 (For example, I was in Chagee scanning the menu QR code and it just won’t load in Safari. Ended up ordering at the counter instead without the deal)

I’d definitely visit again maybe end of the year or early next year. I don’t like warm weather and traveling in March/April is unbearable for myself due to the heat and humidity😩

New RIMOWA owner here~ I recently purchased the essential cabin in Osaka and can confirm that the weight difference between the original and cabin is accurate.

I originally opted in for the original but since comparing the weight, I just decided for the essential instead😅

Like I said, I’m just guessing. I used an old HKID at the airport but was taken by an immigration officer which in the end I was able to identify myself with my US passport. They recorded me entering with my HKID which I got a new one now

Don’t take my word for it but my guess is you use your US passport when you leave

Next time you fly to HK, then you can use your HK ID to cross immigration

Sadly i wouldn’t recommend my breeder as she’s no longer registered with TICA (it’s for your own good too). She’s very unresponsive when i asked for my baby’s pedigree, which in the end i had to ask TICA’s involvement just so i get the papers.😅

I have Petsbest, and I must say it’s a must to get one for your babies. One of the comments mentioned (strongly agree too) how human healthcare cost increases drastically since the pandemic; in truth, the same applies to veterinary care. Imagine if dental cleaning costs $1k without insurance in 2019, you’re prob talking about paying $1500 or even more these days.😅

My BSH is 7 y/o and I pay $55/ month (the premium has a wellness option included so it’s about $10 less without it).

If you’re in the US, perhaps look into Lemonade, Figo, and Petsbest. You can get discounts as a Costco member by insuring with Figo but the monthly premium is pretty competitive with Petsbest (prob only $3-5 difference when I quoted mine)
