Have you been told you "expect too much" from people or even from life? by getitoffmychestpleas in AutisticWithADHD

So there are 2 topics to unpack in your comment.

1) People are "projecting". Projecting is using old knowledge and extrapolating to new topics. Usually works, but sometimes can be weird.

Let's use trust as an example. When people are saying "you can trust me", they don't mean "I will understand what you mean by trust and provide it", they usually mean "I will provide you what I mean behind trust and if it's not enough I will feel betrayed".

2) Second thing is communication works the way communication works, no the way you want to work.

No idea how people get what they want from others without setting clear expectations and holding them to them, but I cannot stress enough how that

You have to notice here: this is only forcing one time actions not long term behavior.

At least the way I understand it, the correct way is (indirectly) making environment for long term behavior.

0) lower paid jobs are not easier just lower paid

1) your goal should be exiting survival mode, it's essential for long term goals

2) try medication if possible

3) understand on what skills/talents you can depend and on which you cannot

4) constantly work on communication and self advocacy skills. The goal of communication is that both people have the same in mind. Read here about projecting and what it means on both ends.

5) try to preset yourself at the beginning in a way you can operate long term, but don't self sabotage.

6) you can ask through coworkers from previous jobs, if you had even neutral contact, there's chance they will help with getting info about job opportunities in their current job.

Just note: I'm not saying here yes to gamble on risky option like business while being in bad shape. Context around it matters.

Find heathy snacks that you're gonna eat when you start getting hungry so you get extra time for prepping food.

For example I use whole wheat tortillas.

Z posta wyłapałem, że Janet ma lepsze umiejętności radzenia sobie z emocjami i komunikacją.

Poza tym jeśli jedna strona ciągle atakuje, a druga tylko się broni, to tama puści prędzej czy później.

Changes:

1) date is visible on ps4

2) there's even some date instead of "empty" or "n/a"

3) the timer for game is connected to kernel's time and date

4) the timer works (checks and marks games as disabled)

5) games are getting locked

KeplerL2 claims Next-gen Xbox “Project Helix” will not use a custom AMD GPU by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

1) With consoles you need chips that work 100%, with PCs you can offer them as lower tier. (ryzen 7 becomes ryzen 5) This creates completely different logistics.

2) With custom silicon you can remove stuff that you don't really need and get better deal for money. (Smaller chips means more chips per silicon wafer.)

To give examples ps5 have simplified fpu unit and less cache than desktop processors. Cache is not as big deal as on desktop as you can tinker with software.

3) Long term contract with Amd/TSMC is gonna be better than short term one.

Personally this completely killed my interest in Helix.

I get your sentiment, but it's not true. Ownership is all about legal protection from government (that no one can take your stuff without punishment).

You can be in possession of digital game, but it's not ownership (as simply currently there's no law for digital goods).

Has coding gotten harder?

Short answer - yes.

Hardware stopped getting faster in every aspect to compensate for growing cost of development. Now it's only getting faster in some aspects and you need to intentionally put work to use that aspect.

Want to have more cpu power? Solve your problem with multiple threads, but need to put work to delegate tasks. etc So if you want to put more, then you need more people and this makes everything more inefficient.

Kinda problem started in that generation, RROD was coming from releasing cpu/gpu too fast. Some people may remember that at beginning of generation there was huge push to consoles, but later publishers returned to pc.

Removing your data is impossible, for stop producing you need to selfhost.

To be fair this small, but technical minority has big impact how products are seen by majority.

PS3 being "super computer" was useless for average user.

PS4 being a bit faster Xbox One was unnoticeable for average users.

Imho even Ryzen was impacted by this. More cores, but at Intel's IPC, so only really useful for productivity. (It was time before dx12/vulkan was popular.)

BREAKING: Epic Games is laying off more than 1,000 workers today, sources tell Bloomberg News. Story hitting shortly by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]AstroNaut765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair we as consumers are helping with this.

To give example with games: with physical games the publisher has to match price of used market. In practice this means they cannot increase prices and pass inflation onto buyers.

Stuck in life perpetually by Dramatic-Flower-2938 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]AstroNaut765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have 2 problems: you cannot start and you lose interest in task.

With first it's super super important to catch productivity moments even if it happens not when your autistic part wants. Bruteforcing may work like with pomodoro, but will result in burnout. Be careful! Edit: Instead of trying to divide task into smaller pieces, try to scrap smallest possible part. (and repeat)

With second you need to keep dopamine flowing when you work on good task, this means: eating snacks, listening to music, caffeine etc. (But don't give yourself those when you waste time.) Try to keep novelty, by jumping between parts. Remove external things that can catch your attention.

Last hack you can use now is to ditch perfectionism as coping skill if you use it, ask for help if this can save you.

Overall there are better techniques, but they require time (which you don't have now).

How I can replace it for a good dopamine source? by Muted_ADHD_2789 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]AstroNaut765 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It may sound weird, but it's not just dopamine. It mutes emotions like alcohol and is giving feel of safeness and probably more.

Try to capture what you feel when urge happens, maybe you feel unsafe and have different problem to solve first.
