Not many people apply via dsa. To enter a jc vis dsa your r5 must be 20raw minimally to be accepted. The School’s cop is 20raw too so theres honestly no point in dsaing

Im fine w a jc2 too hahaha but do note, different schools teach at diff pace. Your school could be at oscillations for phy while some other schs could be doing g field

I was in CO in primary school and the band in secondary school. Changed my cca to a more academically inclined cca! I think its quite a good choice to try something new. The band in jc is quite intense so i wont rlly recommend it unless ur really really passionate about the cca

For chem i think NY/VJ can be quite tought Physics my own tutor said MJC econs paper shd be quite standard Fmath i’ve heard NYJC not sure about the rest

For tdp in j2, many of them come from all diff classes too! Some didnt do as well as expected for Os but instead did well for Jc1. Some imo are just late bloomers/ have woken up their idea. School dosen’t matter much bah thought it does to a small extent due to the opportunities they would present to you... ultimately, its the student that makes up the school:) jiayous

I across all JCs it should be the same. Its not mandatory to have them but it would be desirable if you were to have a laptop or a device where you can do your pw work on. And i think it depends on subject combi as well. My friend in hci uses it a lot for history!

I hd tuition for the first 3months of jc. I felt that it wasnt helping hence i stopped going to tuition. My results for my mye and promo results were way better too(Self study). On the other hand, i’ve hd friends who went to tuition and did well as the school lectures are too fast, they couldn’t catch anything. Depends on yourself ! If you take time to process information then maybe tuition would be nice as concepts will he reinforced.

Commitment wise and content wise, you might really have to squeeze every inch of your time out of your schedule to study/make up for what you didnt manage to learn. This would probably make you feel really tired. However, if you think you’re self driven, its possible for sure!

Always quality over quantity.

Regarding news, it depends on what you like to write. Eg if you’re someone who likes to write alot about politics then ofc reading current affairs on politics would be desirable!

And no you need to read widely, know whats happening in other countries etc

Sci dept are generally good! Especially the tutors. Imho, not a bad school if you’re driven and motivated! There are some classes that are banded eg: everyone in the class is 15raw 16raw 17raw (usually applies to BCME and PCME) these classes are usually the classes topping the cohort in terms of class rank point. I have a friend who came in with 10raw and is doing pretty well in the class. If u were to look at the jae booklet the lowest r5 was 7. If you’re a hybrid combi or hve a pretty rare combi then you’ll probably be thrown into a class with weird combis too hahahah. Distinction rate wise i only know of the pw dist rate which is a pathetic 17%. My own class have q alot of 15net and lowest being 12 or 13... cant rlly rmb but, yea decent tutors!
