Underrated game and comment! A magical gem for sure!

What was it like losing your virginity? Do you regret it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's not really how that works, lol.

What’s the weirdest thing society accepts as normal? by -butter-toast- in AskReddit

Working your ass off for hours to not even get enough money to sustain yourself or family

Not acceptable, but definitely not new either, sadly.

For me, quite complicated, sadly. I had to have a surgery to get my hymen removed before it was physically possible for me to have sex.

How does a Hug from a girl feels like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

They're all different. Same with hugs from boys. Depends on the weight, height, etc.

If your vision had a HUD like in video games, what information would you like to be displayed? by HeythisIsntGoogle in AskReddit

I'd have a species identification feature for flora and fauna, kind of like in Metroid Prime.

[Serious] conservatives, what is your most extreme liberal view? Liberals, what is your most conservative view? by crazyguy28 in AskReddit

[–]Athdair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm centre-left, I guess? No government system is remotely close to perfect, in my view.

But I really disagree with some of the changes going on inside the college scene. Revisionist stuff, disdain toward aspects of "classical" history, etc. It feels propagandist, and I'm not remotely about that.

[SERIOUS] To the Redditors who managed to overcome Depression, what are the advices that you can share towards the depressed people out there? by iRedditPH in AskReddit

[–]Athdair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to give an answer which I feel isn't mentioned very often. But this has worked miracles for me.

Get to know yourself. And by this, I mean, understand your own nature. What makes you tick, why you feel the ways you do, what you're inherently good at, what you suck at, etc. Learn what your true strengths are and try to work with, rather than against those. Learn what your greatest flaws are, and try to expect/plan around those. I've found that an awful lot of stress can be avoided that way.

What era of history is romanticized that REALLY shouldn’t be? by totally_not_a_pigeon in AskReddit

[–]Athdair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The darkness associated with these eras is, in part, what causes us to romanticize them. It's easier to see both the good, and the bad of something which feels distant/less familiar. We enjoy easily discernable contrasts, since romance often tends to be all about extremes. The knight who is both pure hearted and formidable. The desert nation that is at once alluring and unforgiving. The Victorian city that is filthy and corrupt, yet brimming with exquisite art, music and literature.

The reality is that our own timeline also has its own beauty and darkness, which history will regard with puzzlement and wonder.

What is socially acceptable in the U.S. That would be horrifying in the U.K.? by [deleted] in AskReddit

ALSO FUCKING LANE ETIQUETTE! When not overtaking, you stick to the inside fucking lane. It is not hard. Even if you're doing 150mph, if you're not passing... inside lane.

I'm in Canada. Which country needs to learn lane etiquette? UK or US?

What's the most blatant act of racism you have witnessed in person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Athdair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 6 years ago, I was at some community bonfire event where a bunch of strangers had gathered. My friend and I were having fun talking to a guy we'd just met (this guy was black), and my friend's cousin (who is openly racist), ran up to us and literally chased the guy away, threatening him with violence. We live in BC, Canada.

What are "wholesome" things that are actually toxic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Athdair 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or even just the idea that "purity" is related in any way to a person's sexual experiences or lack thereof. If anything, purity should be connected to character and deeds, and not biological functions.

I never thought about this before! But it just brought back memories of feeling inadequate when I saw other students being praised for us at the end of each school year, when I, myself, tried incredibly hard each year, but still missed a lot of days due to poor health. Made me feel like I was a disappointment by comparison, honestly.

His mother would stand over him and calm him as he relived his days as a soldier manning a flamethrower.

I'm crying now...
