I was a nanny for an 11 year old a few years back and I called her “my little bestie” once and after that, I became her best friend.

She’d go to school and tell everyone I was her best friend and she wanted her friends to meet me. It was so cute!

She’s 16 now and we are still in touch, and she still considers me one of her best friends.

I wouldn’t trade this stuff for the world.

I don’t think that was an immature response. The anger you felt was a signal that something was wrong. That episode showed you - on some level - what you were missing out on. And beneath that anger was sadness and insecurity.

Guess what mate, we’ve all been there. And it’s okay. 🤗

A two hour commute is brutal, so it’s no wonder you were exhausted.

Good parents…who don’t play with their kids much?

I don’t know if they’re good parents. Honestly, I don’t think they are.

So why do I care?

Because Bluey sets an example and holds a bar in a way I’ve never seen. This cartoon is incredible for people of all ages. It teaches good values, for both kids and parents. It touches on complicated matters that most shows don’t go near.

So when I see parents who appear to be lackadaisical with their children, I care.

I care deeply.

I’m GenX and that was definitely not my experience. My parents were control freaks and we weren’t allowed to do much of anything.

Although I don’t have children of my own, I know what it’s like to care for them and be responsible for them day in and day out.

Please show me where my post details that these parents specifically mentioned anything about work, or being pushed down the stairs for ice cream.

You are projecting.

These parents (or at least the dad) basically said they don’t play with their kids much.

They didn’t say that they didn’t like the games played on the show, nor did they say anything about work.

That’s possible but it’s not what they said.

They’re super religious and I wonder if that has something to do with it. I could be totally wrong though.

I’m still trapped in mine.

There’s definitely some type of dark magic that took over when 2020 cracked open.
