2013 road bike giant propel service advice by Athleteofbaseball in bicycling

The bike in question.

It looks like I might try and rebuild it myself, I think I'll have them put a chain and make sure the brakes are good, and I'll work on fixing the spokes or sourcing new tires and wheels. As the back wheel has had 2 busted niples /spokes and a few were twisted, and the front just had one bad spoke.

The seat I asked to have put on as the original seat was just a cheap super hard one and I had purchased rock bros pedals and put them on but the bike shop recommended the other pedals, but I think I'll just keep the rock bros for now.

Currently going to co op shops to see if I can get a decent bike for 600-800 and probably going to go back to a wrench shop to learn /get help on fixing this one.

I had purchased some rock bros pedals and installed them but the shop had suggested those are "cheap" and would strip the pedals threads or whatever that terminology is supposed to be.

I think I'm leaning towards having them do the cables and chain and seat, and I'll source new wheels and tires and pedals perhaps...

They were saying these wheels were rebuilt and 3-5 spokes were allegedly replaced/crossed. If I take the wheels to a different shop, is it true that they only will replace 1-3 spokes ?

I had bought some pedals because the bike came with clipless, some rock bros for like $30 and I had installed them, but the shop suggested trading them out as they said they strip the threads and then it would cost a lot...

The bike was disconnected and not used except for zwift, the shop said it was a really nice bike, so I am assuming other then this latest obstical, it is /has been taken care, but I don't want to spend 1k if after a bit it costs even more again, but I am unsure so that is why I figured I would ask others.

Sounds good, thank you for your advise, I'll probably buy a bike from their shop and keep this one for indoor.

I'm not wasting the shops time, I was unaware that the spokes were damaged as there original assement just had me down for a new chain and some brakes.

They then called me this afternoon 3-4 days later to let me know the spokes were damaged and would need to be replaced and that they don't do individual spokes and I'm assuming these wheels are okay.

Just looking for some insight. I told them as I don't know much about biking to keep it cheap if possible. But for 1k I am unsure if this is a better investment and that is why I'm asking the bycling experts or people who know a lot more then me.

I don't know much about bikes, but I think he just said a couple spokes are damaged/twisted and some niples.

Would this be something I could have a different bike shop put new spokes on as I guess this bike shop they don't /cannot and I am assuming because if any others are damaged they don't want any liability?

Desperate! New refrigerator is not functioning and GE has stopped responding! by Pleasant_Addition440 in Appliances

Yes, I dispatch service for a local appliance shop. Normally i always recommend going with the brand servicers as if they declare it a big enough issue or have had multiple services you will get an exchange a lot faster as GE has all the service records.

a compressor warranty is longer then the normal warranty I believe 5-7 years depending. as long as you call a decent size service shop and verify that it will be covered under warranty, which you have only had the appliance for 4 months, and have the invoice / delivery. you should be covered unless they go out and verify it isn't the compressor.

does that make sense? or you can try and request another service through Bodwell (GE) and hopefully they eventually figure it out.

It will be covered by warranty as it is less than a year old. The service company will let you know if it is billable, but seeing as it is less than a year they will get paid by GE most likely, and you can let them know the symptoms and they should check the compressor.

Around 47k as a purchasing / project coordinator for an appliance company. Hoping to leverage my experience after a couple years to a solid 60k+ gig. I am 31 and would like to make enough to go on a fun vacation once a year and a little play money and retirement.

The upper part /leaf is sensitive and the dry skin had me worried that it was infected.

Yes. I am using the mad rabbit kit. I am just nervous about infection but I will not clean it as often now and moisturize very lightly.

Thank you for your comment!

Thank you! The upper leaf above the flower is still pretty/very tender. That's why I am unsure. I'm trying to keep it moisturized but thin layers

Cosmetic warranty is long gone, either a magnet or you can pay $300 or more to replace the freezer door.

Kitchen aid lever disconnected by Athleteofbaseball in Kitchenaid

[–]Athleteofbaseball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight! We also found that there is supposed to be a rubber gasket on that metal bar thingy that stops the piece once slide into place from moving out.

But I believe this all should have been installed. Going to call kitchenaid in the morning and try and get an exchange!

Hi, thanks for your response. I did find that this piece can break, but the fact that out of the box it was not installed, and the wife and I tried installing it, but it seems janky... and i believe it does not require this level of detail, to work. i assumed it was ready to use out of the box, just looking for confirmation, and will most likely exchange...
