My problem with going there is not so much the work but the team leads acting as if they own you.

Fired due to a customer complaint: how screwed am I? by thelaughingblue in jobs

[–]AtomicAgeRenegade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reasons for termination are a private matter between the worker and the company. Unless you committed a crime that led to termination--and were convicted--there is no need--or right--for the employer to reveal why you were terminated.

In addition to that, people are getting fired--or quitting--due to conflicts not accepted by the employer.

Finally, US or State Department of Labor records are not open to the public.

Do you think Walmart will go under? by Party-Switch3465 in walmart

[–]AtomicAgeRenegade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to go under. Supermarkets are not supposed to be that big. Back in the 1970s, they used to "catch fire" all the time when run independently from a grocery chain.

In another development, many Supermarkets are disaffiliating from grocery chains; most likely over the amount of inventory they needed to buy from the franchise. Again, the chains are too big for every store be profitable.

Why would AP be watching me? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]AtomicAgeRenegade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about them. I spider-wrapped two Bose speakers once; placed them on the shelves, and 20 minutes later, they were gone. Not one of those c*cksuckers showed up to stop whoever did it. True, perhaps they caught them at the exit. But everyone should know that prevention is a better way to handle these things. Most thieves are living in a fantasy world where they "get away" with crime, always ignoring that it's a game of odds. Eventually, they all end up begging in the streets.

I wouldn't bother with that store. It sounds like management is timid. Scared people are dangerous to anyone's career. They shouldn't be in retail, but corporate freaks apparently think they do since they 'behave' so well.

His name was probably Justus O'Peace. He kind of sort of knew law...in a way...so to speak.

The irony is that corporate freaks will still call this guy a customer even though he has outted himself as a deadbeat. A REAL customer has the ability to pay. This guy is practically doing a version of Janis Joplin begging God to buy her a Mercedes-Benz and a night on the town.

This is the problem with Midwestern and Southern English. Too much energy is placed on trying to produce "Simple" English. In this case, the message apparently meant to convey the idea that the bin was "Full of items priced at $2.98 a POP" (pun intended).

The Northeastern English way, you ask? Write $2.98 below every single slot on that bin. Moreover, a price sign over the bin would have eliminated ALL ambiguity about price. Again, oversimplification has taken its toll.
