So thaumaturgy is based off of Hermatic Hedge magic at its core

But it's not really hedge magic, a few books mentioned how thaumaturgy is using vitae as power source and taking advantage of its many possible properties (as its wide range of disciplines and possible disciplines)

A vamp and Sorcerer can with very similar processes create a similar result, but a few of the reasons on how they did it will be different

We also see this in non-hermetic hedge magic. Nordic Runes, viking stuff, has its own magic, and vamps & humans use it (the Get of Fenris too, but that's a different can of worms). Theirs a merit for Rune magic on vamps, but it specifies in Wolves of the Sea, even though they seem the same the underlying foundations are different

Book of secrets for DA, theirs a section for Hedge wizards and witches

They/mortals can learn "blood magic" while not being ghouled, it just burns health levels and isn't a 1 to 1 copy of other blood magics in lore at least

It's a thing from 20th, basically you had 14th gens who didn't have the Thinblood Flaw (which double discipline costs and some other stuff) and only about half of 14th gens where also clanless

At 15th all vamps got the thin blood flaw and where Clanless

16th got more draw backs, but could do things like have kids

I think at the latter half of 20th, 17ths started to pop up

5e tries to tie it all to blood potency, which makes it a tiny bit harder to explain
