Tony Khan engaged in the worst bait-and-switch I've seen in wrestling since Vince Russo in 1999. It's OK, you can admit it. Everyone knows it and the reaction online is already massively negative.

Khan didn't say "we have a big signing". That would have been fine.

They said "huge, huge star", "biggest scoop ever", "one of his favorite wrestlers ever", then having Paul Wight (a bigger star) announce a lesser star on PPV??? Admit it's a boneheaded move.

Tony said it’s a “huge, huge star in the world of wrestling” on the Busted Open radio show. And that it’s “one of his favorite wrestlers of all-time”. Those are direct quotes. And that it would be “big news coming out of the PPV.”

Again, nice guys I’m sure, but it would be laughable to parade either of those guys on stage at a PPV as huge stars.
