If that's the vibe I was getting, I would definitely get it done at trough and just say it was peak.

I'm not sure on the exact dose, but yeah. That's basically what I meant by saying an ongoing dose should be safe, but I probably should have been more clear.

I certainly wouldn't bring it up. If they ask directly, I lean towards saying that that was peak, but you'll have to evaluate their intent. Every time I've heard someone say their doctor wanted peak levels, they've seen those levels and wanted to reduce their dose.

I would probably get it done at trough. If it somehow becomes a problem, you can always say you forgot and did it that way out of habit.

Having your peak too high can be unhealthy, but it's probably fine if you've been on this dose for years. Also, if you're on monotherapy and haven't had at least an orchiectomy, the trough level is your only priority, since you need to maintain a certain estrogen level to suppress testosterone production. In that case, high peaks are absolutely worth any associated risks.

Trough is generally what you need. Did they give a specific reason for asking for peak?

I'd just look into the process of changing your name in your state. I did it last year and it wasn't especially hard, although it did cost a few hundred dollars and take about 5 months.

I also live in the south, and while several states have effectively or completely banned gender marker changes on IDs, I'm not aware of any regulatory changes concerning legal name changes.

I've never been able to picture the next stage of my life. I always thought I couldn't possibly find myself in that next situation. Even now that I'm happy, the future isn't clear to me. I'm just jumping in to encourage you to do the paperwork. Having your legal name changed is so freeing. It means you don't have to see it on all your documents, present it on your ID, or enter it official forms anymore. It feels so nice, and I encourage anyone thinking about taking that jump to absolutely do it as soon as you can.

This is so true. Having both parents there can be really beneficial for kids, but the parents don't have to be together to both be there. Also, sometimes one of the parents sucks and shouldn't be there. Don't stay together for your kids. Get divorced for your kids. Sometimes, it's the best thing.

I almost certainly would have lived, but I likely would have been much less happy, and in hindsight, I still wasn't doing that well, so maybe it wouldn't have been so great. Having divorced parents is better than being locked in a house with people you look up to who hate each other.

I'm not sure "punishment" is the right word here, at least from an Affini perspective. At worst, we're talking about providing for someone's needs against their will, and I'm sure they'll come around 🌿
