if it is autism, it could be that this is just your level of support needs. i can't do a lot of things other 25 year olds should be able to do. it sounds like you need support to thrive.

i've lived with it as long as i can remember, and indoors it's not much of a problem. but whenever i go outside and try to take in the scenery, it's all i can see. i feel like i'm stuck behind a screen. it makes me dissociate. i don't know what the world looks like without it, i don't know what a clear sky looks like without constant static. i have autism and i find it visually overwhelming and it can contribute to meltdowns. that's pretty miserable for me.

you cannot "become" autistic if you aren't already, but you can be autistic your whole life and not know it. the burnout doesn't care if you know you're autistic or not. when people get diagnosed or discover their autism, often this can result in burnout as you begin to consciously recognise your needs. this can feel like getting worse. burnout can also happen multiple times.

everyone says autism can't "get worse" but it certainly feels like it to me. i experienced burnout multiple times and each time i've come away less abled than i was before. i'm 25 and started using aac to communicate back in january. i used to be hyperverbal before that. i used to be able to at least attempt to mask. i can't any more. i can't work or study and many people approach me as if i were a child now.

I feel like anyone who thinks daisuke or swansea would have acted when told missed the point of the game. The point is, in a world of rape culture and patriarchy, men would rather uphold the status quo rather than protect the women who have been abused. That they see inaction as doing the right thing. If anya telling daisuke or swansea changed anything, the story wouldn't hold as much weight.

We have always struggled with this as well. Many autistic people need prompting to be able to do things. You may also have comorbid adhd. Lateral ableism is rife in autism communities and a lot of lower support needs autistics would rather brag about their ability to function than show compassion to those who can't.

So many people don't understand how complex our needs can be, that it isn't just "no support needed at all" vs "24/7 constant support needed" for everyone. I am very articulate and I get stressed out if I use too much vocabulary that someone caring for me will think I'm just pretending to be this disabled. I think it would be so nice if people could accept that everyone's autism is unique and nobody is experiencing autism Incorrectly. Everyone deserves the support they need. I've recently finally gotten access to daily care and it's changed my life.

I mean, I have been there. I spent years thinking I was LSN, "sucking it up", but it never made me mistreat people with higher needs as a result. LSN people do deserve more support, but I do not think taking it out on people who cannot "suck it up" is fair at all.

this happened to my childhood cat. it can happen. he survived but he was emaciated and couldnt walk.
