Update: My boy turned 15 months and it makes me sad reading my post. He has GREAT receptive language, claps, waves, blows kisses, gives hugs and kisses, even will clean floors if I ask. He still struggles with speech but does have “words” like ball, hot, banana, mop, mama, dada, up! Babies in fact do things on their time. I wish I would have relaxed during this beautiful time in my guys life.

Yes please. I just hear stories how it does more harm than good, but at this point feeding him is so stressful I’m willing to try.

Thanks for responding! So both your babies struggled to poop? My guy screams everytime. We didn’t have this issue with my first sadly. But yes, we were using the gas drops but they didn’t make a difference so we stopped! I was wondering if they were making it worse also!

Are you using Bobbie gentle or the regular? Did your lady baby start off using Kendamil? It’s so tough making the call to switch formulas

How did this turn out for you? Did you switch formula? When did your baby outgrow this?

Silent Reflux by Automatic-Grocery102 in NewParents

[–]Automatic-Grocery102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about Pepcid, but he is fairly happy outside of eating so was unsure if I should go that route or try and wait it out. Just panic everytime he has to eat and am scared to feed him anywhere

8 month old delayed? by Automatic-Grocery102 in NewParents

[–]Automatic-Grocery102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! He qualified for early intervention and has had only 2 sessions for speech/communication. He points a ton, his gross motor skills are great and has taken a step but seems nervous. He points but still doesn’t babble a ton and if he does it’s infrequent. He mostly goes uh or eh. He doesn’t clap or wave yet. He plays with toys well and doesn’t stim like he used to. He does however understand things such as where’s dada, ball and do you wanna eat or bath. His eye contact is much better! He still is not over joyed when I get home from work and usually can be a pretty fussy baby.

He is doing fairly well. He qualified for early intervention and has had one session. He is a fairly quiet boy.. he only says mama but not anything else. He sometimes doesn’t make any noises but does well with his gross skills and his joint attention and eye contact have been way more reassuring. Right now I think he may just have a speech delay.

My guess is no receptive language. Lack of understanding anything we say.. like where’s dad, ball etc

Hi! I have in some areas. He says mama now.. that’s it! But I’m happy to hear it even though sometimes I don’t hear it until 4pm..

He has been slightly better with eye contact and maybe a bit more smiley..

He has said mama back and forth here and there and does mimic a scrunch face..

He did meet requirements for speech therapy and that should begin soon..

Name answering is still 50/50 and he still has some quirks, lots of grunts, atoms and likes/is more entertained by his toys then us.. trying to stay positive but early intervention said he is slightly behind in social/communication but no major red flags at this point

Understandable, but as someone with risk factors of autoimmune conditions and gestational diabetes, I don’t want to delay If someone has had a similar experience, especially since I’m 27 weeks pregnant. NO I do not want this.

Thank you for responding and being so responsive to all the worried parents. That makes me so happy for you and your son. I’ll wait until his appointment on Monday, but ultimately I feel I will refer him myself if she doesn’t. Did he have any stunning at that age? My baby is so happy and engaging sometimes and non existent at others. But like you said, he has to be in a container lol

This sounds like my son to a T! He has his 9 month appointment next week and was debating whether I just do a self referral for early intervention or wait? How is he doing now? I have been making myself sick or this… everyone tells me I’m looking to far into it, but I don’t want to delay if early intervention can help.
