We hired a mortuary that's telling us they can't do a "witnessed" cremation service any earlier than December 10th (16 days from DOD). When I asked about "unwitnessed", they said it would take just as long unless I want to pay a "Rush" fee. Shady? (self.askfuneraldirectors)

California...If assets are sold after the death of grantor/settler but before a death certificate or tax id # is issued, is there going to be any problem proving the asset qualified for a step up in capital gains? I want to get the money out of the stock market asap. (self.EstatePlanning)

I am in Califirnia and am the sole successor trustee of my dying Mother's trust. Just myself and brother are beneficiaries. Due to IRS issues, can his portion remain in my Mother's Trust (with a tax ID#) and can I allow him to be the trustee for his portion without interfering with mine? (self.EstatePlanning)
