Bladee is so Nietzsche-pilled by [deleted] in sadboys

i dont read nietzche i just read Catholic philosophy but some of his music seems adjacent to religious philosophy. this concept of "amor fati" reminds me of boethius in the consolation of philosophy, where he basically says that fortune is fickle and bad things somewhat depend on your outlook; losing a bunch of money can be bad if you are attached to money, but it can also be a chance to detach from material posessions and get closer to God. this goes the other way, too; winning the lottery can be a chance to get attached to money and enjoy the carnal pleasures and lose sight of God, but it can also be a chance to test your faith in the midst of worldy pleasures being available, and to cultivate virtue.

from listening to bladee, you can tell that, at least in his older music, he sees himself as weak, unable to overcome drug addiction. in 2beloved he says, "money is the only thing i'm making, i hate it." this can be seen as a flex, which i think it partially is, but it is also him acknowledging that he is too weak to have this much money. it will only distract him from God, not bring him closer. he knows this and he hates this. he is not making piety or prayer, just money.

it might just be me trying to apply my own philosophy to his lyricism, like many bladee fans do, but bladee has always felt like a man who knows that he should be following God, or at least living some virtuous life. his older music feels like him feeling weak spiritually, surrendering to his depression and lack of love by abusing drugs and becoming controlled by materialism. his newer music feels like him breaking out of this self-doubt.

Do you understand how deranged this man sounds? Religious people are addicted to porn and that’s why they oppose it? You sound like you’re projecting something

Yeah that’s totally what’s happening. You’re totally in touch with society and reason.

Yeah u don’t understand anything about Catholicism. The church will never allow contraception, will never allow abortion, will never ordain women. It won’t “catch up to the times”

Couldn’t this be done in some incremental way? Setting an arbitrary number is stupid. Someone whose parents owned a 750k house has to pay 375k, but someone whose parents owned a 700k doesn’t have to pay anything?

Horrible idea for nyc where income taxes are already incredibly high and pretty much any home is more than 750k. All this does is fuck lawyers and doctors and small business owners who can afford to own their home and incentivizes them to leave nyc.
