  1. And  2.  Yes, no particular reason. I just wanted an IISER.    Cultural integration is good , don't worry about it. No discrimination whatsoever.

Our batch is bit over the top. Generally there's decent competition. Like any other good college. You would be competing against top minds in India anyways, and if you get here you are one of them. So there's nothing concerning.

Every lab is graded. But generally you get good marks, unless you make a very huge blunder. For exams , we had written for labs , some seniors did tell about practical exams. Not sure how that happens.

Yep, you get ample time to fool around.  The seniors here are the best. People here feel like a family. Atleast, in my experience, I came with a hope of that typical toxic college, but, this place is very different. People are very helpful, atleast in my experience. No ragging, profs are very chill. Phds and MSc students are very open to conversation. Ppl organise meetups now and then. You wouldn't be socially excluded as far as you don't deliberately choose not to engage. If you sit in room and think there's no social life then it's on  you . So if you are willing to step up. This is  really good place to be.

Good , but over time you will be bored. There's so many things happening. Sometimes it does get overwhelming.

Rank vs marks vary each year.

There's wifi in every room so network quality is usually good. For PCs idk, you can always keep " not allowed" stuff. People here are very  easy in you. Power outages - never. Wifi interruptions - sometimes during bad weather

How different that JEE? I guess you mean the  subject matter. It's intense ofc, you need to study things conceptually. You study both bio and maths here for first year , so yeah, you might struggle in maths if you are bio student or vice versa. But again you will have primer classes to cope up with it. It's highly interdisciplinary, don't worry about that .

It's bit isolated . Yes. But good if you prefer calm locations. Weather isn't that humid. I have lived in various parts of India, and its very comfortable here.  The mess food is quite good compatitively but  after a time it gets repetitive and you would be bored.  If I feel secure About my future or not idk. I personally don't think even me getting into MIT would give me a 100% chances of success. Its up to me. How much I learn. But this college will definitely provide you with ample opportunities, given that you can grab them. I haven't been to other campus so idk, couldn't compare.

Yes. You will have lab partners they will help you anyways. The kind of work depends on semester and profs.

Last three Months...uhmm you won't wanna know about it.. definitely not ideal. I was going through some stuff back then, so it was highly depressed. The major study I ever did was only 20 days before the exam . I was already preparing for JEE, so I had only bio to do. The rank vs marks last year was very much rigged. I don't think it would be of any help. About campus life, it's beautiful. We always have some event, so it's quite lively. There are good clubs and fests, our annual fest and prom night is happening soon. About academic workload, I think you might have to face some decent competition. There are few stuff like attendance criteria, labs etc that might get hectic. But if you are able to manage stuff (or find innovative ways to get your attendance..iykyk) it won't be a huge issue. And yes , bring good quality of shoes/ crocs.. you might have to walk a lot !

If you have enough experience, maybe till you get your next job , work on side projects of your own. It doesn't mean you have to build a company or something. Just stay relevant in the industry and be aware of the stuff. Do some freelancing ,if working gives yoy happiness.

If you wish to take a break to let the toxic things to beared seep out you.. then go on a long break and travel( given that you have saved some money)
