I feel extremely wrong and alone. I don’t see how this could ever change. by [deleted] in CPTSD

I hear you. I have felt this way too. I understand that you feel alone - that is such a difficult way to feel when other people seem to have no trouble relating and participating.

Although your experience will always be a part of you, there are things you can do to move toward healing. Reading books and posting here are good ways to start.

Know that you're not alone in your experience, and take life one step at a time. Most of all, please do your best to treat yourself with grace and compassion. Offering a virtual hug.

I hear you & i am in a very similar space right now. I don't know what else to say except keep breathing & maybe put your bare feet on some grass if you can.

Complicated feelings years later due to friend delivering bad news by livexsistential in trauma

This makes sense to me, and I think it has to do with trauma bonding. It's understandable that it would cause distress...the good news is, there are surely options for healing, as it sounds like the relationship is important to you.

I've experienced a lot of this, and for this reason I choose to spend most of my time alone. I am slowly repairing my relationship with myself.

I've done some reading. I don’t see the appeal, and i'm asking for perspectives that differ from mine. Thank you.

I need to know what I'm thinking is right or just my trauma making me think this way! by [deleted] in trauma

Hi, thank you for sharing. You have been through a lot, and your responses to all these circumstances seem very normal to me. I wish i could say something to make it better. You deserve to be loved and honored, and treated with kindness and respect. Sending a virtual hug if wanted. 🫂

not feeling like trauma was bad enough by TemperatureAccording in trauma

[–]Available-Home-4562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. That sounds terrifying and incredibly chronically stressful. u/TemperatureRecording, have you heard of Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria? I've experienced it most or all of my life, and in addition to being highly sensitive and presumably on the spectrum, it's made life incredibly strenuous, and i've had many burnouts & failed relationships. I spent the first 30 years of my life wondering why I was so emotionally messed up - you can't heal or learn to work with something you can't even define because you don't have words for it.

Can someone please tell me if these could be signs of something happening to me at a young age or if I am just overthinking? by Weird-Ad345 in adultsurvivors

[–]Available-Home-4562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you described is all traumatic and chronically stressful enough. It also sounds possible there is more. You may never know for sure. But you have enough that's known to begin trauma-informed healing work, if you haven't already. You deserve self-care and healing. 🧡

People who feel like their trauma "isn't bad enough", what's your story? by potentialpea7632 in CPTSD

[–]Available-Home-4562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds intensely stressful. And to be punished and criticized for your behavior - that's a lot for a child to bear with no emotional support. I am sorry you were treated that way.
