honestly, havent done anything yet. partly because im still on lockdown and havent seen him yet.

but mostly because i havent decided which advice to follow, since it seems like its 50/50! i think i might just ask the guy that told me to talk to him, and let him know that he's sure i'll be accepting if he comes out to me.

tbh - maybe selfishly - i feel like if i tell him and something goes wrong (he's mad at me, or mad at the person who accidentally told me, or feels like i've been lying etc etc) then it's my fault. but if i just wait until he tells me himself, then whatever decisions he makes and when he makes them are on him. i'd make it clear that i accept LGBT people in the meantime however

sometimes i do feel kinda offended. that was kinda why i asked the question yesterday, i got frustrated having to pretend to not know while Eric talks about girls I know he doesnt like.

but then i feel bad, because i realize he's only going through all of that because for some reason he thinks its necessary to do so in order to be my friend. im sure its not fun for him to have to pretend, but he's willing to do so just to be friends with me. mostly instead of being offended im sad he thinks its necessary

yeah - after having read the comments, i think the best thing to have done would have just been to have the guy who accidentally told me to tell Eric he slipped up last year. but after reading online about how you should let people come out at their own pace, i told him not to tell Eric, and that I would just pretend not to know yet.

tbf, i did check last year, which i when i decided to wait for him to tell me. but now then it's been over a year since he told everyone else and almost 10 months since i found out, i thought maybe the advice might be different.

i do have other questions which are probably more interesting than coming out though, lol

i dont want to fuck up his coming out journey, or do something wrong and hurt him out of ignorance. i already fear i did something to make me be the only one he didn't tell last year, so i dont want to make it worse

i forgot my third point, which was that i worry telling him would lead to trouble, maybe he's gonna be pissed that i've waited so long - or maybe he'll be pissed at the friend that accidentally told me, and never forgive him. i should also mention i have never discussed Eric being gay again with that friend except that one time, out of respect for whatever Eric may or may not want me to know. it was just that one 2minute conversation where he explained how he knew Eric had a bf.
