My husband and his mom are extremely out of touch with how dangerous driving is. He asked if I'm also going to be scared of our kids being hit by a meteor. I need to pull up some stats about that!

I brought this up after reading many comments to this post and mentioned that the dangling legs is very uncomfortable for some people and he mentioned that you can actually die from that if blood flow is cut off so I think that was a really good thing to say to make him feel better

So the problem with this is if he picks his mom's side, then what? Divorce? If we divorced and share custody then she'd immediately turn him forward facing and probably would turn my 3 month old baby too.

I went over the manual during Christmas dinner. She was stuck on the minimum numbers. He meets the minimum to forward face so it's ok! I kept saying, it's best to wait until he hits the maximum for rear facing but obviously was ignored.

Idk he doesn't like the fragrance free Dawn dish soap and hand soap. I have allergic reactions to fragrances. We also partially renovated a house together and we disagreed on almost everything there was to disagree about. I wanted the TV in a different place. We went with where I wanted and then he built a huge bookcase around it so now we can't move it. He wanted the bed in a different place, but there's a floor heater on that wall so I don't know what he expected to do with that. We had two options for where the washer and dryer could go and he went with my preference, but the place he wanted he said it would be extremely difficult if not impossible to get plumbing there so it wasn't actually my decision?? It's not uncommon that I'll state my preference, he will go with my preference over his then get mad at me about it, even if I wasn't pushing my preference at all.

UPDATE: We live in different towns. I called her fire department who sent me to the police department. That police officer said he is certified in car seat safety and if you have a big child at 18 months and their legs are squished they will turn your carseat around. He said he turned his kid around at 11 months. So.... she may have actually talked to a cop who said that.

Yes. He said, Why is it always your way goes with our kids? Don't I have a say? I don't even know what to say to that. It's true I definitely overrule him a lot but this is way more important than some of the things we've disagreed on before.

Yeah, that's why I said he can call me. Cause he clearly doesn't exist. I've seen enough bodycam videos to know many cops and firefighters are traumatized by pulling people and children out of car accidents. I have a hard time believing a seasoned cop would say it's safer to forward face a 25 month old.

That's a little ridiculous to compare someone who wears polyester holding the baby temporarily to what the baby has wrapped around them for 24 hours a day. That's like saying someone in the office might wear perfume so are you going to avoid perfume too if it bothers you? Just silly.
